Job summary

Confidential Company in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Senior Oracle Core DBA with expertise in Oracle Database administration, high availability, disaster recovery, performance optimization and replication technologies. The role requires hands-on management of mission-critical production environments and independent upgrades, troubleshooting, and support of Oracle databases.

Experience with MySQL administration and clustering is also required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years hands-on experience as an Oracle Core DBA.
• Experience supporting mission-critical production environments.
• Experience administering both Oracle and MySQL databases.
• Preferred certifications: OCP, OCM, OCI, MySQL DBA.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer, upgrade and maintain Oracle Database environments.
• Manage Oracle RAC environments including installation, administration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Design, implement, and administer Oracle Data Guard Physical Logical Standby for Disaster Recovery.
• Configure, administer, and troubleshoot Oracle GoldenGate Classic Architecture and Microservices Architecture.
• Perform database performance tuning using AWR, ASH, ADDM, SQL Tuning Advisor and execution plan analysis.
• Monitor and optimize SQL performance, database resources, memory, storage and I/O.
• Perform Oracle database patching Release Updates RU upgrades and migration activities.
• Execute backup and recovery using RMAN and validate recovery procedures.
• Perform database cloning, Data Pump export import and database refresh activities.
• Administer ASM, Oracle Clusterware, Oracle Grid Infrastructure and Oracle Restart environments.
• Install, configure, administer and troubleshoot MySQL databases.
• Implement and manage MySQL Replication and MySQL Cluster solutions.
• Develop automation scripts using Shell or Python to simplify routine DBA activities.
• Perform root cause analysis for database incidents and implement preventive measures.
• Work closely with application, infrastructure and security teams during project implementation and production support.
• Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures and disaster recovery documentation.
• Participate in planned maintenance activities and provide on-call support when required.

The ideal candidate should have hands‑on experience managing mission‑critical production environments and be capable of independently implementing upgrading, troubleshooting, and supporting Oracle database infrastructure.
