Job summary

D4 Insight is seeking a Senior Oracle Database Engineer in Dubai to manage enterprise databases, optimize performance, and automate routine DBA tasks. The role requires 8+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, OEM, and RMAN.

You will operate across OCI and AWS, patch and migrate databases, and implement scripting in Bash and Python to improve efficiency. Occasional out-of-hours support may be required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of Oracle database engineering experience in large organizations.
• Expertise in Oracle Database Administration, RAC, Data Guard, OEM, and RMAN.
• Strong knowledge of OCI and AWS.
• Proficient in SQL/PLSQL and Unix/Linux scripting (Bash, Python).
• Experience with database patching, migrations, and performance tuning.
• Familiar with DevOps tools like Ansible, Git, Jenkins, Groovy, Terraform.
• Desirable banking/analytical DB experience and professional certifications.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support Oracle databases across RAC and Data Guard.
• Manage operations on OCI and AWS and monitor using OEM.
• Perform backups and recoveries with RMAN; ensure reliability.
• Tune SQL and overall database performance; apply patches and migrations.
• Automate repetitive DBA tasks and contribute to DevOps initiatives.
• Support multiple projects and occasional out-of-hours as needed.

Job Overview

We are looking for Senior Oracle Database Engineer to support technology projects across enterprise environments. The role requires strong expertise in Oracle database administration and performance tuning, combined with a strong interest in automating repetitive DBA activities using modern automation technologies.

The successful candidate will work across multiple projects simultaneously and should be comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment, including occasional out-of-hours and weekend support as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Oracle Database Administration
  • Administer and support Oracle databases, including:
    • Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC)
    • Oracle Data Guard
  • Manage database operations across Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and AWS.
  • Administer and monitor databases using Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
  • Perform database backup and recovery activities using RMAN.
