Job summary

Global Software Solutions Group in Dubai is seeking an experienced Senior Oracle Database Engineer to manage Oracle Database Administration, performance tuning, high availability and DR across large enterprise platforms. The role covers RAC, Data Guard, OCI and AWS, OEM, RMAN, patching and migrations, with automation using Ansible, Git, Jenkins, Groovy, Terraform, Bash and Python.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, handle incident management, and participate in out-of-hours

Qualifications

• 8+ years of Oracle Database Administration / Engineering in large enterprise environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with Oracle RAC

Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level Oracle database administration and engineering support for technology projects and enterprise platforms
• Design, implement, maintain, and support highly available and resilient Oracle database environments
• Perform advanced Oracle database performance tuning, including SQL tuning, workload analysis, and performance optimization
• Administer and support Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) environments
• Administer and support Oracle Data Guard environments for high availability and disaster recovery
• Manage Oracle databases across OCI and AWS environments
• Monitor and manage database environments using OEM
• Perform database backup, recovery, and restore activities using RMAN
• Plan and execute Oracle database patching, upgrades, and maintenance activities
• Perform database migrations across environments and platforms while ensuring minimal business disruption

• Develop and maintain database administration standards, procedures, and documentation
• Support multiple technology projects and database initiatives concurrently

The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with Oracle RAC, Oracle Data Guard, OCI, AWS, Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), RMAN, database patching, performance tuning, and database migration. The role involves supporting multiple technology projects simultaneously within a large-scale enterprise environment. The successful candidate should be comfortable working under pressure, managing competing priorities, and participating in out-of-hours or weekend activities when required.
