Job summary

Careers International in Dubai is seeking an experienced Estimator for Infrastructure Projects to accurately forecast costs from inception to completion and manage the project budget. You will oversee procurement and ensure contract compliance while guiding junior QS staff.

The ideal candidate holds a degree in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering with 5+ years in infrastructure estimating in the UAE, strong analytical skills, and proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and cost estimating

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor and Estimator, focused on infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of pricing, contracts, and procurement processes.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and cost estimating software.
• Proven track record of managing project budgets and delivering on time and within budget.
• Knowledge of local construction regulations and codes (Dubai/Abu Dhabi experience).
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost estimates for infrastructure projects, including materials, labor, and equipment costs.
• Develop and maintain project budgets, ensuring costs are within agreed parameters.
• Conduct site visits and liaise with project managers to monitor progress and identify potential cost issues.
• Track and report on project costs, providing regular updates to project stakeholders.
• Prepare and submit progress claims and variations in accordance with contract terms.
• Provide support and guidance to junior quantity surveyors and estimators.
• Develop relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and timely delivery of materials and services.
