Position Overview
A specialised commercial role focused on infrastructure projects including roads, bridges, utilities, drainage, pipelines, rail, and related civil works. The role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong cost estimation, contract administration, valuation, claims, and infrastructure billing experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs, cost estimates, measurements, and commercial calculations for infrastructure projects.
- Review drawings, specifications, BOQs, tender documents, contract terms, and project requirements before commercial submission.
- Monitor project costs, budgets, cash flow, committed costs, and cost movements throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare interim valuations, payment applications, payment certificates, final accounts, and related commercial documentation.
- Evaluate subcontractor quotations, support subcontract negotiations, and assist in managing subcontract agreements.
- Identify variations, prepare cost claims, assess contractual entitlements, and support commercial correspondence.
- Conduct site measurements and verify completed quantities for roads, utilities, drainage, pipelines, bridges, rail, and civil infrastructure works.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, consultants, clients, procurement teams, and subcontractors on commercial matters.
- Ensure all quantity surveying activities comply with contract conditions, company procedures, project controls, and approval requirements.
- Support procurement activities through material cost analysis, supplier comparisons, and commercial input for purchasing decisions.
- Prepare commercial reports, cost forecasts, variation logs, payment status updates, and budget summaries for management review.
- Maintain accurate records for measurements, claims, approvals, valuations, subcontractor payments, and final account closeout.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in infrastructure projects only.
- Proven experience in roads, utilities, drainage, pipelines, bridges, rail, or large-scale civil infrastructure works.
- Strong knowledge of FIDIC contracts, infrastructure project billing, valuation methods, and commercial administration.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel, and quantity surveying software.
- Good understanding of BOQs, contract documents, cost control, variations, claims, and subcontractor payment processes.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, reporting, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, measurements, and commercial priorities accurately.
- Experience in Gulf or UAE infrastructure projects will be an advantage.
- Familiarity with cost control systems and ERP software will be preferred.
