Job summary

EDGE seeks a highly experienced Principal Engineer Firmware for Halcon to provide technical leadership across the design, development, integration and certification of advanced firmware for mission-critical defence systems.

You will drive engineering excellence, mentor teams, and shape firmware architecture, verification, and compliance strategies to support long-term capability growth in a globally connected, fast-moving environment.

Qualifications

• Lead the architecture, design, development, integration, and verification of FPGA and microcontroller firmware systems.
• Define firmware standards, certification practices, and development methodologies for defence requirements.
• Chair design reviews and oversee Firmware Requirements Specifications and ICDs.
• Mentor engineering teams and contribute to roadmaps and tool strategies.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for Halcon firmware projects and mission-critical defence systems.
• Establish and enforce high-quality firmware processes and certification readiness.
• Guide cross-functional teams and drive long-term technology strategy and capability growth.
