Job summary

EDGE in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer Firmware for Halcon to lead the design, development, integration, verification, and testing of advanced firmware solutions for mission-critical defence systems. The role requires strong expertise in FPGA and microcontroller-based embedded platforms and technical leadership.

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s in Electronics/Software/Computer Engineering and 10+ years in FPGA or MCU firmware, with DO-254 knowledge and defence industry

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Electronics Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in FPGA and/or microcontroller firmware development.
• Strong experience in firmware design, coding, verification, validation, testing, and hardware integration.
• Thorough understanding of systems engineering processes, including requirements management, design, integration, verification, certification, and configuration management.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, and verify firmware solutions for FPGA and microcontroller-based embedded systems.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance on firmware architecture, coding standards, verification methods, and certification requirements.
• Lead technical design reviews, develop firmware specifications, interface control documents, and ensure adherence to engineering best practices.
• Mentor junior engineers and support continuous improvement of firmware development processes, tools, and technology roadmaps.
