Role Context

This position provides the operational and engineering link between field assets, project teams, contractors, technical authorities, and supporting functions throughout the lifecycle of minor modifications and development projects. The Senior Engineer ensures that construction and modification activities can be implemented safely within existing operating facilities while respecting field operating philosophy, established work practices, production requirements, and lessons learned from previous projects. The role remains involved from planning and design review through construction, mechanical completion, commissioning, handover, and project close-out.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, direct, and supervise assigned personnel and project-related activities in accordance with approved authority levels.
  • Review project planning packages and identify schedule weaknesses, execution risks, constructability concerns, and areas requiring corrective action.
  • Develop project execution strategies in coordination with site teams and applicable project execution standards.
  • Identify constructability issues during the planning stage and establish practical solutions before field implementation.
  • Assess HSE-critical construction activities in advance and ensure appropriate controls are incorporated before work begins.
  • Supervise contractor activities associated with Management of Change minor schemes, construction, mechanical completion, and readiness for commissioning.
  • Review and approve contractor submissions including Inspection Test Plans, method statements, mechanical completion dossiers, and ready-for-commissioning documentation.
  • Coordinate technical reviews with relevant authorities to ensure contractor submissions meet project requirements and approved standards.
  • Attend regular progress meetings with contractors and evaluate performance against approved schedules and execution plans.
  • Review contractor progress reports and verify the accuracy of reported construction status.
  • Assess material approval requests against approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
  • Verify that materials delivered to site comply with approved technical specifications and intended project applications.
  • Ensure contractors comply with applicable ADNOC Onshore HSE policies, procedures, quality requirements, and technical standards throughout execution and handover.
  • Conduct site inspections and audits to confirm implementation of safety assurance requirements.
  • Accompany contractors during field surveys to assess work scope, physical constraints, interfaces, and interaction with existing operating facilities.
  • Attend Requests for Inspection raised by contractors and inspect completed work against QA/QC specifications, scope of work, approved ITPs, and applicable procedures.
  • Conduct final facility walk-downs with contractors and end users and ensure outstanding construction items are identified and closed before handover.
  • Maintain schedules covering field development activities, engineering projects, plant modifications, and related operational requirements.
  • Keep site operations informed of activities that may affect existing facilities, production systems, or operating plans.
  • Coordinate field operations input throughout conceptual studies, project identification, engineering design, construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning phases.
  • Represent assigned field interests during project meetings and provide presentations covering progress, operating requirements, constraints, and execution priorities.
  • Coordinate field reviews of project designs, procedures, and execution plans to ensure operating philosophy and practical field experience are incorporated.
  • Ensure field actions supporting project schedules are properly coordinated and completed within required timelines.
  • Facilitate technical and economic evaluation of minor field-sponsored projects and plant modification proposals before management submission.
  • Support plant performance reviews and modification proposals intended to improve operating reliability and production performance.
  • Receive physical completion certificates for newly installed or modified facilities and coordinate subsequent commissioning and handover activities.
  • Coordinate pre-commissioning, commissioning, project close-out, documentation, and final records.
  • Ensure as-built drawings and project completion records accurately reflect installed facilities and modifications.
  • Establish and manage interfaces between Asset Divisions, Master Plan teams, corporate stakeholders, and external projects interacting with existing facilities.
  • Coordinate new well tie-in activities in accordance with approved business plans and production targets.
  • Facilitate the Asset Management of Change coordination process and ensure modifications progress through appropriate governance stages.
Ideal Profile

The successful candidate should hold a Bachelor 's degree in a relevant Engineering discipline and possess at least 8 years of experience in a comparable role within the oil and gas industry. Strong field exposure to construction execution, plant modifications, Management of Change, mechanical completion, commissioning, and project coordination is required. Candidates should be comfortable working within live operating facilities where project execution must be carefully integrated with production and HSE requirements. Practical knowledge of contractor supervision, constructability assessment, inspection activities, QA/QC requirements, material approvals, technical documentation, and commissioning preparation is important. The position also requires the ability to coordinate multiple internal and external interfaces, interpret project schedules and engineering documentation, identify execution risks early, and ensure operating experience is incorporated into project development.
