The Senior Project Manager – Field Development will control a portfolio of major oil and gas projects involving new facilities, production infrastructure, plant upgrades, and brownfield modifications. The role will transform business requirements into executable project strategies supported by clear scopes, technical standards, cost estimates, schedules, contracting plans, and risk controls. It will lead multidisciplinary engineering teams, Project Management Consultants, international contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders throughout every phase of execution. Sound decisions are essential to avoid scope changes, design weaknesses, rework, procurement delays, and poor contractor performance, which could result in significant financial and production losses.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage major field‑development and engineering projects from initial inception through completion and final handover.
• Lead proposal development, feasibility studies, conceptual engineering, scope definition, and project option selection.
• Provide technical direction during early development to establish viable and economically sound project solutions.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities covering process, mechanical, piping, civil, structural, electrical, instrumentation, control, and associated systems.
• Review project requirements and refine scope, objectives, specifications, cost estimates, schedules, and implementation phases.
• Obtain or coordinate the collection of technical, operational, financial, and site information needed for project definition.
• Evaluate alternative project solutions and recommend the most suitable option based on technical feasibility, cost, schedule, constructability, and operational impact.
• Develop project execution strategies in collaboration with user departments, operations, finance, commercial support, engineering, and procurement teams.
• Initiate and approve overall work programmes, contractor terms of reference, technical standards, and project procedures.
• Establish the governance and execution basis required before engineering and construction activities begin.
• Direct project teams through engineering, procurement, construction, pre‑commissioning, commissioning, start‑up, and handover.
• Manage Project Management Consultants and verify the effectiveness of design coordination, site supervision, project controls, and administration.

Ideal Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or an equivalent recognised qualification.
• PMP certification is required.
• Minimum 12 years of professional experience in oil and gas project engineering, execution, or project management.
• At least 5 years of experience leading multidisciplinary employees, consultants, and contractors.
• Proven success managing major projects from concept through construction, commissioning, and start‑up.
• Strong experience with new plants, surface facilities, field‑development infrastructure, or major brownfield modifications.
• Broad knowledge of engineering design, procurement, construction, project controls, and operational readiness.
