Job summary

EDGE in Abu Dhabi seeks an experienced Senior Embedded Software Engineer for Halcon to design, develop, test, and verify safety-critical real-time embedded software for advanced defence and aerospace systems. You will contribute across the full software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities include deriving low-level requirements, architecture, integration, verification, and mentoring junior engineers, with emphasis on C/C++ and real-time restrictions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of embedded software development with strong proficiency in C/C++.
• Hands-on experience with RTOS and/or bare-metal embedded systems, device drivers, and low-level hardware interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, Ethernet).
• Experience with software verification, debugging tools, version control systems such as Git/SVN, and requirements management tools such as DOORS or JAMA.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded software solutions using C/C++ for real-time and safety-critical applications.
• Derive low-level software requirements, architecture, and design from higher-level system and software specifications.
• Perform software integration, verification, debugging, and validation activities, including SIL, HIL, and hardware-software integration testing.
• Participate in technical reviews, prepare engineering documentation, and mentor junior engineers on software development best practices.
