Job summary

Target Engineering Construction Co LLC in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical construction activities on large-scale Oil & Gas EPC projects. You will supervise site teams, ensure installations meet drawings and specifications, and coordinate with QA/QC, HSE, and planning to deliver on schedule.

The role requires 8–10 years in electrical construction and 3–5 years in a senior engineer position, with strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

Are you an experienced Electrical Construction professional with a strong background in delivering large-scale Oil & Gas EPC projects? We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead and supervise electrical construction activities, ensuring safe, high-quality, and on-schedule project execution.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic EPC environment where you will play a key role in managing site electrical works, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and delivering complex industrial projects.

YOUR ROLE

As Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible in the performance of the following but not limited to duties and responsibilities;

Electrical Construction Management

• Supervise and manage day-to-day electrical construction activities.
• Ensure execution of electrical installations in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and project requirements.
• Monitor progress against project schedules and implement corrective actions to mitigate delays.
• Coordinate manpower, materials, tools, and equipment required for electrical works.
• Conduct regular site inspections and progress review meetings.

Electrical Engineering & Technical Support

• Interpret electrical engineering drawings, single-line diagrams, layouts, schematics, and technical specifications.
• Provide technical guidance to site engineers, supervisors, foremen, and subcontractors.
• Resolve technical queries and site-related engineering issues in coordination with design and engineering teams.
• Review constructability and identify potential risks before execution.
• Support value engineering initiatives to optimize project cost and schedule.

Electrical Systems Experience

Candidates should demonstrate strong experience in:

• Substation and switchgear installation.
• Power generation and distribution systems.
• HV/LV cable installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Transformers, MCCs, VFDs, and UPS systems.
• Earthing and lightning protection systems.
• Electrical equipment installation and alignment.
• Cable tray, conduit, and electrical infrastructure works.
• Industrial plant electrical systems within Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, or EPC environments.

Quality Assurance & Quality Control

• Ensure all electrical works comply with project specifications, international standards, and approved inspection requirements.
• Coordinate with QA/QC teams for inspections, testing, and approvals.
• Monitor workmanship quality and eliminate rework through proactive supervision.
• Support NCR investigations, corrective actions, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with relevant electrical standards and codes.

HSE & Compliance

• Ensure all electrical construction activities comply with project HSE requirements and safe work practices.
• Conduct toolbox talks, safety inspections, and risk assessments.
• Promote proactive safety leadership across site teams and subcontractors.
• Identify electrical safety hazards and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Ensure compliance with permit-to-work systems, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and electrical safety procedures.

Stakeholder Coordination

• Coordinate with Engineering, Planning, Procurement, QA/QC, and HSE departments to ensure smooth project execution.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, vendors, and subcontractors regarding technical and construction matters.
• Participate in progress meetings, inspections, and project review sessions.
• Support material planning and ensure timely availability of electrical equipment and materials.

Reporting & Documentation

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly construction progress reports.
• Maintain records of inspections, testing, permits, NCRs, and site activities.
• Track productivity, resource utilization, and subcontractor performance.
• Support preparation of as-built documentation, handover dossiers, and project closeout packages.

Resource & Productivity Management

• Monitor manpower productivity and resource allocation.
• Identify construction constraints and recommend practical solutions.
• Optimize utilization of materials, equipment, and workforce.
• Monitor subcontractor performance against quality, safety, and schedule requirements.
• Identify risks associated with electrical construction activities.
• Develop mitigation plans to minimize impacts on safety, quality, cost, and schedule.
• Escalate critical issues to project management and support timely resolution.

WHAT WE’R LOOKING FOR

Experience

• Minimum 8-10 years of electrical construction experience.
• At least 3-5 years in a Senior Electrical Engineer role on large-scale Oil & Gas EPC projects.
• Proven experience in industrial plants, refineries, petrochemical facilities, offshore/onshore Oil & Gas projects, or major infrastructure developments.

Education and Certifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Professional certifications are an advantage
