Job summary

Worley is seeking a Senior Construction Supervisor – Electrical to lead supervision of electrical construction for Oil & Gas / Petrochemical projects in the UAE. You will ensure safe, timely execution in line with IFC drawings, project specs, quality standards and schedules.

Responsibilities include coordinating with I&C, mechanical, piping and other teams, supervising LV/MV/HV installations, and ensuring QA/QC and HSE compliance. Extensive GCC experience is required.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Engineering from an accredited institute.
• 15+ years in Oil & Gas or Petrochemical with GCC experience.
• Experience in major onshore/offshore construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day electrical construction on site.
• Coordinate with I&C, mechanical, piping and other teams.
• Ensure compliance with IFC drawings, specs, ITPs and schedules.

Job Purpose

The Senior Construction Supervisor – Electrical is responsible for supervising and coordinating electrical construction activities for Oil & Gas / Petrochemical projects, ensuring safe and timely execution in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, quality requirements, construction schedules, and HSE standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day electrical construction and installation activities at site.
• Supervise installation of transformers, switchgear, MCCs, distribution boards, UPS systems, generators, motors, lighting, earthing and other electrical equipment.
• Monitor cable tray installation, cable pulling, glanding, termination, testing and energization activities.
• Ensure works are executed in accordance with approved IFC drawings, single-line diagrams, layouts, cable schedules, specifications, method statements and ITPs.
• Supervise installation and testing of LV, MV and HV electrical systems as applicable to the project.
• Ensure electrical installations in hazardous areas comply with applicable Ex requirements and project specifications.
• Coordinate electrical interfaces with I&C, mechanical, piping, civil, structural, telecom, engineering and commissioning teams.
• Monitor contractor manpower, equipment, productivity and construction progress against approved schedules and project milestones.
• Identify construction constraints, material shortages, design discrepancies and interface issues and coordinate timely resolution.
• Coordinate electrical inspections, continuity tests, insulation resistance tests, equipment testing and system energization.
• Coordinate with QA/QC for inspections, RFIs, NCR resolution, punch-list clearance and construction completion documentation.
• Ensure strict compliance with HSE requirements, PTW, LOTO, electrical isolation and safe energization procedures.
• Review contractor work fronts and establish priorities to support construction, mechanical completion and commissioning schedules.
• Participate in construction and progress meetings and provide updates on progress, constraints, risks and recovery actions.
• Support system/subsystem walkdowns, mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, commissioning and final handover.
• Ensure red-line drawings, test records, inspection reports and as-built documentation are properly maintained and completed.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma in Engineering or equivalent from an accredited institute.
• Minimum of fifteen (15+) years (12 years for UAE Nationals) of experience in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry including minimum five (5) years in GCC region.
• Specific experience or qualification or training or technical certificate shall be provided if required and as applicable.
• Must have at least five (5) years of experience in similar position for major oil & gas / Marine Construction projects including minimum three (3) years projects in GCC region.
