Job summary

Penspen Ltd in Abu Dhabi seeks an experienced Senior Contracts Engineer to manage contract administration, commercial support, and ensure contractual compliance across the project lifecycle.

The role requires 15+ years in oil & gas with 5+ years in PMC projects and strong background in multi-disciplinary EPC/EPCM contexts, including greenfield and brownfield terminal upgrades in the GCC region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (required).
• 15+ years of oil & gas experience in the oil and gas industry.
• 5+ years in PMC projects.
• Experience evaluating variations, claims, EOTs, change management, and contract negotiations.
• Strong commercial principles, risk management, and contract administration knowledge.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• GCC/Middle East oil & gas project experience preferred.
• Experience with greenfield & brownfield terminal and facilities upgrade projects.

Responsibilities

• Administer EPC/EPCM contracts per project/client requirements.
• Review and interpret contract terms to ensure obligations are met.
• Provide contractual advice and support to the Project Manager and team.
• Evaluate contractor/consultant claims, variations, EOTs, and commercial submissions.
• Prepare contract correspondence, notices, and documentation.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, project controls, legal and commercial teams to resolve issues.
• Participate in bid evaluations, tender clarifications, negotiations, and award recommendations.
• Monitor performance against obligations, deliverables, milestones and KPIs.
• Identify contractual risks and opportunities; recommend mitigations.
• Support dispute avoidance and resolution through proper contract administration.

Penspen is hiring an experiencedSenior Contracts Engineerwith a strong PMC experience to join our team in Abu Dhabi.The successful candidate will be responsible for contract administration, commercial support, and ensuring contractual compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities:

• Administer engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC/EPCM) contracts in accordance with project and client requirements.
• Review and interpret contract terms and conditions, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
• Provide contractual advice and support to the Project Manager and multidisciplinary project team.
• Evaluate contractor and consultant claims, variations, change orders, extensions of time (EOT), and commercial submissions.
• Prepare and manage contract correspondence, notices, and contractual documentation.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, project controls, legal, and commercial teams to resolve contractual issues.
• Participate in bid evaluations, tender clarifications, contract negotiations, and contract award recommendations.
• Monitor contractor performance against contractual obligations, deliverables, milestones, and KPIs.
• Identify contractual risks and opportunities, recommending appropriate mitigation measures.
• Support dispute avoidance and resolution through effective contract administration and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with client procedures, company policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Prepare periodic contractual status reports for project management and clients.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• 15+ years of oil & gas experience in the oil and gas industry.
• 5+ years in PMC projects
• Solid background in multi‑discipline engineering team EPC project.
• Experience in evaluating variations, claims, EOTs, change management, and contract negotiations.
• Excellent understanding of commercial principles, risk management, and contract administration best practices.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong experience ingreenfield & brownfield terminal and facilities upgrade projects.
• GCC/Middle East oil & gas project experience is preferred.
