Job summary

Penspen in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Senior Civil & Structural Engineer with strong PMC experience to deliver civil and structural solutions for oil & gas projects, ensuring compliance with client specs, international standards, and HSE requirements.

The role involves leading FEED, Detailed Engineering, EPC and brownfield work, reviewing deliverables, coordinating with multidiscipline teams, supporting procurement, construction and commissioning, and conducting site visits to support

Qualifications

• 15+ years of oil & gas experience in the industry.
• 5+ years in PMC projects.
• Strong background in EPC and brownfield terminal and facilities upgrades.
• GCC/Middle East oil & gas project experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Execute and coordinate civil and structural activities for FEED, Detailed Engineering, EPC and brownfield projects.
• Prepare, review and approve design deliverables including foundations, steel, concrete, drainage and roads.
• Perform structural analysis and design for industrial buildings, pipe racks and equipment foundations.
• Review geotechnical/topographical reports and integrate findings into designs.
• Coordinate with multi‑discipline teams to ensure integration of civil/structural works.

Penspen is hiring an experienced Senior Civil & Structural Engineer with a strong PMC experience to join our team in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering civil and structural engineering solutions, ensuring compliance with client specifications, international standards, and HSE requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute and coordinate civil and structural engineering activities for FEED, Detailed Engineering, EPC, and brownfield projects.
• Prepare, review, and approve civil and structural engineering deliverables, including design calculations, specifications, foundation designs, structural steel designs, concrete structures, drainage systems, roads, paving, and underground utilities.
• Perform structural analysis and design for industrial buildings, pipe racks, equipment foundations, platforms, shelters, retaining walls, and other oil & gas facilities.
• Review geotechnical and topographical reports and incorporate findings into civil and structural designs.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure effective integration of civil and structural designs with other disciplines.
• Review vendor drawings, contractor submissions, and technical queries, providing engineering support during procurement, construction, and commissioning.
• Participate in constructability reviews, HAZID, design reviews, and project risk assessments.
• Conduct site visits, condition assessments, and support brownfield modifications and facilities upgrade projects.
• Ensure engineering deliverables are completed in accordance with project quality, HSE, schedule, and budget requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil & Structural Engineering,
• 15+ years of oil & gas experience in the oil and gas industry.
• 5+ years in PMC projects
• Solid background in multi‑discipline engineering team EPC project.
• Experience supporting procurement, construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities.
• Strong experience in greenfield & brownfield terminal and facilities upgrade projects.
• GCC/Middle East oil & gas project experience is preferred.
