Job summary

Penspen is seeking an experienced Senior Contracts Engineer in Abu Dhabi with a strong background in PMC projects to lead contract administration and commercial support across the project lifecycle.

The candidate will review terms, manage variations and claims, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure contractual compliance and successful project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
• 15+ years of oil & gas experience in the oil and gas industry.
• 5+ years in PMC projects.

Responsibilities

• Administer EPC/EPCM contracts per project and client requirements.
• Review contract terms, ensuring compliance with obligations.
• Provide contractual advice to Project Manager and team.
• Evaluate variations, claims, EOTs, changes, and commercial submissions.
• Prepare contract correspondence, notices and documents.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, controls, legal, and commercial teams to resolve issues.
• Participate in bid evaluations, clarifications, negotiations and awards.
• Monitor contractor performance against milestones and KPIs.
• Identify risks/opportunities and mitigation measures.
• Support dispute avoidance through proper contract administration.

Penspen is hiring an experienced Senior Contracts Engineer with a strong PMC experience to join our team in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will be responsible for contract administration, commercial support, and ensuring contractual compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC/EPCM) contracts in accordance with project and client requirements.
• Review and interpret contract terms and conditions, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
• Provide contractual advice and support to the Project Manager and multidisciplinary project team.
• Evaluate contractor and consultant claims, variations, change orders, extensions of time (EOT), and commercial submissions.
• Prepare and manage contract correspondence, notices, and contractual documentation.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, project controls, legal, and commercial teams to resolve contractual issues.
• Participate in bid evaluations, tender clarifications, contract negotiations, and contract award recommendations.
• Monitor contractor performance against contractual obligations, deliverables, milestones, and KPIs.
• Identify contractual risks and opportunities, recommending appropriate mitigation measures.
• Support dispute avoidance and resolution through effective contract administration and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with client procedures, company policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Prepare periodic contractual status reports for project management and clients.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• 15+ years of oil & gas experience in the oil and gas industry.
• 5+ years in PMC projects
• Solid background in multi‑discipline engineering team EPC project.
• Experience in evaluating variations, claims, EOTs, change management, and contract negotiations.
• Excellent understanding of commercial principles, risk management, and contract administration best practices.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong experience in greenfield & brownfield terminal and facilities upgrade projects.
• GCC/Middle East oil & gas project experience is preferred.
