The Senior Resident Engineer will lead the supervision organization required to monitor construction activities and ensure the project is delivered in accordance with approved plans, specifications, amendments, and Contract Documents. The position carries responsibility for coordinating inspection, staking, testing, construction controls, documentation, safety monitoring, and commercial administration. Effective management of the site supervision team is essential to maintaining project quality and progress.
Oversee soils and materials testing in accordance with the Contract Documents and technical specifications. The Senior Resident Engineer will review final material submittals and approvals while ensuring workmanship and materials meet applicable project requirements. Inspection and testing records must be maintained accurately to provide clear evidence of construction compliance.
Check and certify construction progress payments in accordance with project requirements. The role also requires review of personnel, equipment, and material costs associated with variations and changes, providing accurate technical input for commercial and contractual decisions.
Monitor site safety conditions and identify construction safety violations requiring corrective action. Safety activities, meetings, reviews, identified violations, rectification measures, and accident reports must be captured within the Monthly Progress Report. The Senior Resident Engineer will follow up on required actions to ensure identified safety matters are appropriately addressed.
The Senior Resident Engineer is responsible for maintaining an effective supervision organization capable of providing the necessary inspection, testing, controls, and technical oversight required for the project. Strong coordination between site personnel and other project parties is required to resolve issues efficiently and maintain construction progress.
The position requires comprehensive knowledge of civil infrastructure construction, site supervision, Contract Documents, shop drawings, material approvals, soils and materials testing, quality control, progress measurement, variation management, payment certification, and construction safety monitoring. Experience with major transportation infrastructure and familiarity with RTA project requirements are particularly relevant to the assignment.
