Job summary

The Lana in Dubai, part of Dorchester Collection, seeks a Senior Butler to deliver personalized, anticipatory service for our discerning guests. You will partner with Housekeeping and Rooms to elevate in-suite experiences, supervise a multicultural team, and ensure flawless attention to every detail from pre-arrival to departure.

You will mentor butlers, manage bespoke arrangements, and uphold the Dorchester standards across all touchpoints.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years’ experience in a similar luxury 5-star role.
• Certified butler professional required.
• Strong leadership and guest service focus essential.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Housekeeping and Rooms Division to drive the butler service and anticipate guest needs.
• Mentor and assess butlers to maintain Dorchester standards across all touchpoints.
• Lead inspections of pantries, suites, and rooms in collaboration with Front Office and F&B.
• Serve as a single point of contact for guests from pre-arrival to departure with impeccable etiquette.

What You'll Do

• Responsible for partnering closely with the Housekeeping and Rooms Division management teams to drive the butler service, delivering personalized, anticipatory experiences that exceed the expectations of our guests.
• Ensure the Butlers under your supervision possesses exhaustive knowledge of bespoke in-suite services, advanced room technology, and luxury amenities, while continuously mentoring them to elevate their performance.
• Lead meticulous inspections of all butler pantries, vacant suites, and occupied rooms, while collaborating seamlessly with Front Office and Food & Beverage divisions to flawlessly execute complex requests.
• Responsible for guiding and developing a dedicated, multicultural direct report, ensuring that the impeccable, world-class Dorchester standards are flawlessly maintained across all touchpoints.
• Welcome and host local and international guests with immaculate etiquette, serving as their dedicated, single point of contact from pre-arrival to departure to effortlessly orchestrate bespoke arrangements and itineraries.
• Anticipate and deftly resolve sophisticated guest concerns with absolute discretion and emotional intelligence, ensuring swift, flawless outcomes.

• You will be able to comprehend budgets, P&L statements, payroll and purchasing systems to assist in the financial management of the department.
• Communication is what keeps our departments running perfectly. You have great communication skills with a strong guest service ethic.
• English is the primary language used in our hotel. You can comfortably communicate in this language.
• You will have a least 2 years’ experience in a similar position in a luxury 5-star brand, pre-opening experience would be advantageous. Middle East experience would be advantageous.
• You must be a certified butler professional.
