Job summary

Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) is seeking an experienced Export Logistics professional to plan and execute shipping, budgeting and tender activities across the business. You will coordinate cross-functional teams, monitor KPIs, and optimize costs while ensuring service levels for regional customers.

The role involves short- to long-term planning horizons and close collaboration with Sales, Planning and Operations, with a focus on continuous improvement in outbound logistics processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in operations management or related field required.
  • 5–10 years of relevant experience in export logistics in a similar industry.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Support the Logistics Commercial Leader in planning and scheduling shipping, trucking, freight forwarding, port activities, and ad‑hoc logistics suppliers, including performance monitoring through KPIs and maintaining associated databases for systems and tools.
  • Accountable for developing logistics plans in collaboration with Logistics Operations, Planning and Sales teams to balance value, customer delivery and costs across various time horizons (long‑term multiannual, mid‑term quarterly, short‑term monthly/weekly activities). This scope accounts for roughly 60‑70% of total function time per year.
  • Long‑term annual planning: support preparation, adjustments, reviews and development of logistics budget for all categories, including data analysis, spreadsheet preparations, multiple files organization, data consistency checks and calculations for costs and volumes by region, sales, equipment, origin/destination within the EGA outbound logistics scope.
  • Mid‑term quarterly planning: support preparation, adjustments, reviews and development of quarterly logistics budget updates following the same approach as annual planning.
  • Short‑term planning: support development of monthly plans and weekly logistics schedules derived from monthly plan breakdown, including weekly volumes categorized by region, sales channel, port, freight forwarder, and transport mode.
  • Coordinate logistics risks and constraints into multiple planning time‑horizons, especially short‑term execution, in alignment with Allocation and port CFS teams. In case of deviations exceeding 20% during an execution month, coordinate action plans (PDCAs) to realign, recover deviations and achieve logistics outcomes.
  • Assist line manager on development, follow‑up and implementation of projects, liaising with Logistics Operations and other internal teams.
  • Coordinate export tenders: identify opportunities, analyse tender documents, coordinate cross‑functional teams, prepare compliant and compelling bid proposals and work on expanding vendor base.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to gather requirements, develop detailed RFQs to assist Sales in securing new business contracts and achieving sales targets, followed by filing of spot rates.
  • Manage contracts: understand and rectify disputed invoices, liaise between Legal team and vendors on service agreements.
  • Performance management: assist the OBL leader in establishing and monitoring SMART KPIs, managing deviations, analysing root causes, taking corrective actions, developing and maintaining datasets, and preparing executive and routine presentation slides.
  • Administrative activities: adapt to legislation, business requirements and logistics capabilities/systems; coordinate CBAM process between FF vendors and Tax team; support Sales teams with daily administrative tasks; track and trace key customers and special cases; implement logistics solutions when required; perform other ad‑hoc logistics duties as directed.
  • Training and development: assist the OBL leader in developing and delivering training programs, updating them, and ensuring staff are provided with the required knowledge and skills.
  • Systems and tools: develop, monitor, and maintain the section’s business processes and procedures in compliance with approved quality standards; recommend improvements to SAP tools, systems and AI agents; facilitate the implementation of Road Map covering outbound logistics.
  • Records/database management: establish a system or manual tools/spreadsheets for storing all logistics activities in a common repository to enable easy access for future reference and support other departments.
  • Customer relationship: assist management in ensuring customer requirements relating to Export Logistics are fully understood, addressed, implemented and maintained; follow up on customer complaints and approved action plans; review Export Logistics contracts to support customer requirements for planning and scheduling.
  • Annual Sales Planning & Budgets from a Logistics perspective: assist management in developing, monitoring performance against budgets and planning KPIs to identify, rectify and capture opportunities for volumes and cost value.

  • 5–10 years of relevant experience in Export Logistics in a similar industry, including progressively increasing planning and operations responsibilities.
