Qualifications

Responsibilities

Our client is seeking a Senior Application & Design Engineer to join the Technical Sales Support and Aftermarket Applications team for REFIT Oil & Gas projects. The successful candidate will provide technical application engineering, design, costing, and proposal support for REFIT and Upgrade opportunities while managing the lifecycle of customer enquiries from initial design and quotation through to order acceptance and cross-functional handover.

The role combines technical application engineering with sales-oriented project management to support sales enablement, customer retention, and contract accuracy. This position does not perform final site project execution.

Applications & Technical Proposal Management

• Perform comprehensive technical reviews of client enquiries, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and identifying job-specific exceptions.
• Prepare proposals in strict accordance with project enquiry requirements.
• Conduct system selections, engineering designs, and calculations to produce accurate 2D/3D drawings using AutoCAD and Inventor, along with technical data sheets.
• Conduct site surveys to collect field measurements and technical data required for proposal preparation.
• Collaborate with global support groups and internal departments to evaluate project risks, cost efficiency, and system compatibility prior to bidding.

Estimation, Costing & Commercial Support

• Prepare accurate cost estimates in collaboration with internal costing teams.
• Negotiate quotations with equipment manufacturers, component suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Prepare system calculations, technical specifications, tender documents, and commercial proposals.
• Analyse market trends, competitor pricing, and supplier alternatives to recommend cost reduction strategies and improve project profitability.

Sales-Oriented Project Management & Account Support

• Manage the pre-execution phase of customer orders, including project scheduling and milestone tracking within approved budgets.
• Coordinate the handover of confirmed orders to the Project Execution and Operations teams with complete project documentation.
• Develop internal tracking tools and project monitoring sheets to manage enquiries and project data effectively.
• Support project execution planning with the Operations team by preparing project plans, timelines, resource allocation, and budget estimates.
• Act as the primary liaison between clients, consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal teams.

Client Relations & Stakeholder Management

• Attend technical meetings with global, regional, and local customers to discuss technical solutions, commercial terms, customer concerns, and order finalization.
• Work closely with Supply Chain, Engineering, Field Sales, and other internal departments to deliver excellent customer service and ensure effective cross-functional collaboration.

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5-8 years of relevant experience in a technical, applications, or engineering support role.
• Experience within the air intake filtration or large equipment HVAC industry is preferred.
• Proven experience handling technical customer communications and resolving complex engineering challenges.
• Awareness of managing regional business portfolios ranging from approximately USD 6 million to USD 10 million is an advantage.
• High proficiency in Autodesk Product Design Suite, including AutoCAD, Inventor, and 2D/3D modelling.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and MS Project.
• Working knowledge of Salesforce or equivalent CRM systems.
• Valid UAE driving licence is mandatory.
