Job summary

Asset Security & Protection seeks a Senior Private Equity Valuation Specialist to oversee valuation of private equity investments, portfolio companies, and alternative assets. You will perform detailed financial analysis, review valuation models, assess performance, and ensure methodologies comply with IFRS 13 and IPEV guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Investment Management, or a related discipline; a master's is advantageous.
• Significant experience in private equity valuation, investment analysis, corporate finance, financial modelling, or fund valuation.
• Strong understanding of private equity fund structures, investment strategies, and portfolio company valuation.
• Advanced knowledge of discounted cash flow, comparable company, precedent transaction, and other valuation methodologies.
• Experience developing and reviewing complex financial models.
• Knowledge of fair value measurement principles, IFRS 13, and related accounting standards.
• Familiarity with IPEV Guidelines is desirable.
• Experience reviewing portfolio company financial statements, management accounts, forecasts, and business plans.
• Knowledge of fund NAV processes, valuation controls, and investment reporting requirements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and review valuations of private equity investments, portfolio companies, and alternative investment assets.
• Apply valuation methodologies including DCF, comps, precedent transactions, and market-based approaches.
• Develop and maintain financial valuation models for private equity portfolios.
• Analyze historical financial performance, projected cash flows, revenue growth, profitability, and operating assumptions.
• Assess enterprise value, equity value, capital structures, debt obligations, and other adjustments.
• Review investment performance and changes in valuations over reporting periods.
• Evaluate valuation assumptions, discount rates, terminal values, and market multiples.
• Assess impact of market conditions and company risks on valuations.
• Review financial statements, management accounts, budgets, and forecasts from portfolio companies.
• Coordinate valuation information requests with portfolio company management and investment professionals.
• Prepare valuation reports, investment analysis summaries, sensitivity analyses, and supporting documentation.
• Maintain valuation records, model assumptions, source data, and audit trails.
• Support fund valuation cycles (quarterly, semi-annual, annual).
• Review external valuation reports for reasonableness and methods.
• Coordinate with fund administrators to reflect outputs in NAV.
• Support audits with valuation models and explanations.
• Monitor changes in valuation standards and accounting guidance.
• Identify risks and opportunities to improve governance and reporting.
