This role requires the ability to assess complex investments, challenge assumptions, prepare valuation reports, and collaborate remotely with investment professionals, finance teams, auditors, and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities

- Analyze complex capital structures involving preferred shares, convertible instruments, shareholder loans, warrants, options, and other equity-linked securities.
- Assess appropriate valuation techniques for investments with limited observable market data or significant uncertainty in underlying assumptions.
- Review recent financing rounds, secondary transactions, acquisitions, and other market evidence to determine their relevance to portfolio valuations.
- Perform sensitivity analysis and scenario modelling to evaluate how changes in assumptions affect investment values and portfolio-level reporting.
- Monitor public market comparables, industry valuation multiples, interest rates, credit spreads, and broader economic conditions affecting private equity investments.
- Prepare detailed valuation memoranda, investment valuation reports, supporting schedules, and management presentations.
- Ensure valuation methodologies and reporting processes are consistent with applicable accounting standards, including IFRS or US GAAP where relevant.
- Support fair value measurement under IFRS 13, where applicable, and align valuation practices with relevant International Private Equity and Venture Capital Valuation (IPEV) Guidelines or other appropriate professional frameworks.
- Coordinate with external auditors, fund administrators, investment teams, and valuation service providers during quarterly and annual valuation reviews.
- Maintain complete audit trails documenting valuation methodologies, source data, assumptions, judgments, and approval decisions.
- Identify valuation risks, inconsistencies, and potential conflicts of interest, escalating material matters through established governance procedures.
- Contribute to valuation policy development, methodology standardization, quality assurance, and internal control improvements.
- Support portfolio monitoring and investment decision-making by providing independent analytical insights into changes in fair value and investment performance.
- Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive financial information, investment records, and commercially sensitive portfolio data.
- Perform all responsibilities remotely using secure financial systems, digital collaboration platforms, and established reporting workflows.
