Job summary

Reboot Monkey is seeking Freelance Data Center Technicians to deliver on-demand support to our global data centers. You will install, configure, and maintain servers, networking gear, and other hardware, while working remotely with cross-functional teams to ensure uptime.

Candidates should have 3+ years in data center operations, experience with Cisco/Juniper, Linux/Windows, and virtualization; flexible hours and travel; CCNA/CCNP or CompTIA Linux+ desirable.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of data center operations experience, able to work independently or on freelance basis.
• Bachelor’s or Associate degree preferred but not required.
• Experience with Linux and Windows-based systems; virtualization a plus.
• Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills; ability to work with remote teams.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain servers, networking equipment, and other hardware to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
• Monitor data center operations remotely and on-site; diagnose and resolve issues to minimize downtime.
• Configure and troubleshoot networking devices (Cisco/Juniper) for secure network operations.
• Manage Linux and Windows systems; perform updates, patches, and security enhancements.
• Document installations, repairs, and performance; provide reports to remote management.
• Implement security protocols and ensure compliance with data center standards.
• Collaborate with remote IT teams, vendors, and stakeholders on projects.
