Job summary

Jobgether, on behalf of our partner, is seeking an Embedded Linux Senior Software Engineer – Optimisation based in the United Arab Emirates. You will optimize Linux across the full software stack for next-generation hardware, spanning kernel, system software, middleware, applications, and graphical environments to deliver high-performance experiences on emerging silicon.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in CS or STEM.
• Experience building software for Linux-based environments (embedded, IoT, desktop, or server).
• Hands-on with Linux packaging (Debian, RPM, or Yocto).
• Strong C/C++ programming experience.
• Experience with open-source communities and licensing.
• Ability to work across layers of the Linux stack.
• Experience in distributed teams and good communication.
• Nice to have graphics stacks experience.
• Familiarity with Docker, OCI containers, or Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement optimized Linux integrations for multiple hardware platforms.
• Collaborate with hardware partners to deliver high-performance Linux experiences.
• Lead technical planning, testing strategies, and performance metrics.
• Support customers with OS image creation and application optimization.
• Work across the full Linux software stack from kernel to applications.
• Contribute to open-source projects and maintain packaging practices.
• Investigate and resolve performance and compatibility issues.
• Collaborate with distributed teams and external partners.
• Promote platform optimization across cloud, edge, and IoT contexts.
• Provide technical leadership in complex customer engagements.
