Job summary

Jobgether is seeking an Engineering Manager in the United Arab Emirates for a fully remote, globally distributed team. You will lead engineers, balance feature development with technical improvements, and coach staff in a low-structure environment.

You will stay close to technology, review designs and code, and help teams ship high-quality software while shaping product outcomes and engineering culture.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of engineering management experience.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals with a background in Clojure or frontend (React/TypeScript).
• Ability to read code and design documentation and participate in technical discussions.
• Strong product sensibilities to translate requirements into engineering solutions and assess risks.
• Proven ability to debug project execution and adjust plans across teams.
• Strong problem-decomposition skills to break complex work into increments.
• Proven ability to remove blockers and ship high-quality software.
• Coaching and mentoring skills in flat, non-structured environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, esp. for asynchronous collaboration.
• Ability to work with globally distributed teams and manage priorities autonomously.
• Outcome-oriented mindset focused on long-term user value.

Responsibilities

• Directly manage and support a team of engineers to deliver high-quality features.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Success to plan the roadmap balancing features and tech debt.
• Coach engineers and support their career development in a low-structure environment.
• Remove obstacles and continuously improve team processes and delivery speed.
• Diagnose execution challenges and adjust people, scope, and dependencies as needed.
• Maintain strong technical involvement and review designs, code, and proposals.
• Break initiatives into manageable components to manage risk and enable feedback.
