Job summary

A leading home automation technology firm in Dubai seeks an experienced Embedded System Engineer to enhance their embedded software platform. The ideal candidate will have over 4 years of experience and a deep understanding of Embedded Linux, Yocto/Buildroot, and firmware development. This role involves designing and maintaining embedded systems, implementing OTA updates, and collaborating across teams to optimize system performance. A strong problem-solver who is practical and product-minded will thrive in this position.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in embedded software or platform engineering.
• Strong programming skills in C++ and Python.
• Solid hands-on experience with Embedded Linux.
• Experience with Yocto and/or Buildroot.
• Proven ability to modify and maintain Yocto recipes.
• Experience with firmware development.
• Familiarity with cross-compilation and Linux system internals.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain embedded Linux distributions.
• Customize and edit Yocto layers based on product requirements.
• Develop, integrate, and optimize platform-level software for embedded devices.
• Implement and maintain OTA update mechanisms for remote upgrades.
• Support and enhance Secure Boot and platform security features.
