Job summary

Khatib & Alami seeks an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our Consultancy Supervision Team in Dubai. The successful candidate will manage quantity surveying, cost control, contracts, valuations, variations, and commercial management for major infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities include reviewing contracts/documents, measurements, payments, variations, claims, and final accounts, while ensuring compliance with UAE standards and FIDIC contracts. Consultancy experience is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
• 10+ years overall experience in Quantity Surveying.
• Minimum 7 years of UAE experience in infrastructure projects.
• Consultancy experience is mandatory.
• Strong experience in BOQ, measurement, valuations, variations, claims, and contract administration.
• Good knowledge of FIDIC contracts and UAE construction practices.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and relevant quantity surveying/commercial software.
• Excellent communication, coordination, negotiation, and analytical skills.

• Review contractor interim payment applications and prepare payment certificates.
• Evaluate variations, change orders, claims, and additional works.

• Assist with cost forecasting and monthly commercial reporting.
• Review and assess contractor claims in accordance with contractual requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of quantities, variations, payments, and commercial correspondence.
• Assist in the preparation and evaluation of final accounts.
• Provide commercial and contractual advice to the Project Manager and wider supervision team.
• Coordinate with engineers, contractors, consultants, and client representatives on commercial matters.
• Monitor contractual compliance and identify potential commercial risks.
• Attend progress and commercial meetings and provide quantity surveying input.
• Ensure all commercial activities are carried out in accordance with project procedures, contract conditions, and applicable UAE standards.
