Role Context

The QA/QC Engineer will help protect construction quality from initial material approval through execution, inspection, corrective action, snagging, and final handover. Working across Azizi Developments ' expanding Dubai project portfolio, the engineer will verify that civil works conform to approved drawings, project specifications, method statements, inspection and test plans, contractual requirements, and applicable UAE standards. The position requires strong site inspection capability combined with disciplined quality documentation and the technical judgment to identify non-conforming work early, coordinate corrective measures, and prevent recurring defects across complex construction activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor project QA/QC procedures for civil construction activities in accordance with approved quality plans and project requirements.
• Verify that civil works comply with approved drawings, technical specifications, method statements, contractual obligations, applicable codes, and quality standards.
• Review Inspection Requests, Material Inspection Requests, inspection and test plans, method statements, material submittals, checklists, and supporting quality documentation.
• Conduct scheduled and random site inspections to evaluate workmanship and compliance across active work areas.
• Inspect reinforcement, formwork, concrete, blockwork, plastering, waterproofing, finishes, and other structural and architectural civil activities.
• Monitor concrete operations from pre-pour inspections through sampling, testing, placement, curing requirements, and post-pour verification.
• Confirm that materials delivered and incorporated into permanent works are approved and supported by the required technical documentation.
• Witness material tests, laboratory testing, field tests, and other inspection activities required under approved ITPs.
• Identify non-conforming work and initiate NCR processes when construction does not meet approved requirements.
• Coordinate corrective and preventive actions and monitor NCR closure until technical compliance is achieved.
• Investigate recurring quality problems and recommend practical measures to prevent repetition across project areas.
• Coordinate closely with Resident Engineers, Project Engineers, consultants, inspectors, contractors, and subcontractors to resolve quality concerns.
• Maintain inspection records, test reports, checklists, NCR logs, material documentation, approvals, and other quality records in an organized manner.
• Ensure site practices remain aligned with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems and project-specific Quality Management Plans.
• Monitor contractor and subcontractor workmanship and highlight deficiencies before they affect subsequent construction activities.
• Review technical drawings, specifications, material data, and construction documents to establish inspection requirements.
• Coordinate with Dubai Municipality and relevant UAE authorities where inspections, approvals, or regulatory compliance activities are required.
• Participate in project meetings, quality reviews, technical discussions, audits, snagging, de-snagging, and handover inspections.
• Prepare quality reports identifying inspection status, NCR trends, outstanding issues, and corrective action progress.
• Support site teams with technical guidance on quality requirements, inspection criteria, and acceptable workmanship standards.
• Promote consistent quality awareness among engineers, supervisors, foremen, contractors, and subcontractors.
• Ensure completed works are properly inspected and documented before proceeding to subsequent construction stages or final handover.

Ideal Profile

Bachelor 's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline. Minimum 7-10 years of professional QA/QC experience within the construction industry. Previous experience on civil construction projects in Dubai or elsewhere in the UAE is required. Experience working on high-rise buildings, large residential developments, hospitality projects, or major mixed-use construction programs is strongly preferred. Candidates should have extensive practical knowledge of concrete, reinforcement, formwork, blockwork, plastering, waterproofing, finishes, and associated civil construction activities. Strong understanding of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems and project-specific Quality Management Plans is required. Hands‑on experience preparing, reviewing, and administering Inspection and Test Plans, Method Statements, Material Inspection Requests, Inspection Requests, NCRs, checklists, testing documentation, and inspection reports is essential. The successful candidate should be comfortable coordinating quality matters with consultants, contractors, subcontractors, laboratories, site teams, and relevant UAE authorities. Strong technical drawing interpretation, inspection judgment, documentation accuracy, reporting ability, and problem‑solving skills are important for the role.
