Role Context

The QA-QC Inspector is responsible for protecting workmanship quality across interior fit-out activities from material delivery and installation through final inspection and handover. The role verifies that approved designs are translated accurately into completed work and that defects, deviations, or non-conforming materials are identified before they affect project quality or completion schedules. Working closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Consultants, subcontractors, and site teams, the inspector maintains quality control through structured inspections, documentation, corrective actions, snagging, and continuous follow-up.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect interior fit-out works against approved drawings, specifications, quality requirements, and project standards.
• Conduct detailed inspections of drywall, partitions, ceilings, flooring, joinery, marble, painting, doors, wall finishes, and other architectural works.
• Verify workmanship quality at each stage of installation.
• Review approved shop drawings before conducting site inspections.
• Check material submittals against actual materials delivered and installed on site.
• Review method statements and ensure works are performed according to approved procedures.
• Review Inspection and Test Plans and follow required inspection stages.
• Raise and process Inspection Requests for completed works requiring consultant or project approval.
• Prepare Material Inspection Requests for materials delivered to site.
• Verify that delivered materials comply with approved specifications, samples, and consultant requirements.
• Identify non-conforming workmanship or materials and raise Non-Conformance Reports where required.
• Follow up on NCR corrective actions until issues are properly resolved and closed.
• Record site observations and monitor corrective action completion.
• Coordinate with subcontractors to correct workmanship deficiencies promptly.
• Monitor installation methods and ensure approved procedures are followed consistently.
• Inspect dimensional accuracy, alignment, levels, finishes, joints, interfaces, and final appearance.
• Verify that approved materials and finishes are used in the correct locations.
• Identify recurring quality problems and recommend preventive measures.
• Coordinate with Project Managers and Engineers on quality concerns affecting project progress.
• Liaise with Consultants during inspections, approvals, corrective actions, and quality reviews.
• Maintain clear communication with subcontractor supervisors regarding inspection requirements.
• Prepare daily and periodic quality reports.
• Maintain inspection records, checklists, approvals, observations, and supporting documentation.
• Ensure quality files remain complete, traceable, and ready for consultant or management review.
• Monitor outstanding inspections and quality actions to prevent delays to subsequent activities.
• Participate in mock-up inspections and approval processes where required.
• Support review of completed areas before formal consultant inspections.
• Participate in snagging inspections during project completion stages.
• Prepare and track snag lists until all items are rectified.
• Conduct de-snagging inspections to confirm satisfactory closure.
• Support testing and commissioning activities where relevant to fit-out completion.
• Participate in final handover inspections and quality closeout.
• Verify that completed works satisfy approved project quality requirements before handover.
• Ensure compliance with project quality plans and established QA-QC procedures.
• Maintain awareness of applicable UAE construction regulations and consultant approval processes.
• Coordinate quality requirements with HSE standards and site safety procedures.
• Identify quality risks early and recommend practical preventive actions.
• Support corrective action planning where defects or process failures are identified.
• Contribute lessons learned to improve workmanship and reduce repeat defects on future work.
• Ensure subcontractors understand project inspection and documentation requirements.

Ideal Profile

• Diploma or Bachelor 's Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of QA-QC experience in interior fit-out projects within the United Arab Emirates.
• Strong practical knowledge of fit-out materials, finishes, installation methods, and workmanship standards.
• Experience in luxury residential, hospitality, retail, commercial, or mixed-use fit-out projects is highly preferred.
• Detailed understanding of Inspection and Test Plans.
• Practical experience preparing and processing Material Inspection Requests.
• Experience raising and following Inspection Requests.
• Strong knowledge of Non-Conformance Reports and corrective action procedures.
• Familiarity with method statements and quality inspection checklists.
• Strong understanding of snagging and de-snagging processes.
• Good knowledge of UAE construction practices and consultant approval procedures.
