Job Purpose
Lead the strategic use of project intelligence to improve capital project planning, risk visibility, execution performance and portfolio-wide decision-making. Establish approaches for gathering, interpreting and sharing project data so that ADNOC can evaluate development options, anticipate challenges and make informed investment and resource decisions.
Project Intelligence Strategy
- Develop and implement a project intelligence strategy covering market analysis, competitor benchmarking and industry trends.
- Establish methods for gathering and interpreting capital project information across ADNOC Group Companies.
- Connect intelligence findings to portfolio planning, project governance and management decisions.
- Assess changes in the oil and gas sector that may influence project strategies and priorities.
Analytics, Reporting and Risk
- Lead analysis of project performance indicators, financial metrics and historical project data.
- Develop reporting frameworks, dashboards and management reports that communicate findings clearly.
- Assess capital project risks using historical performance information and market conditions.
- Recommend risk mitigation actions based on identified project exposures.
- Benchmark project performance and practices against relevant industry approaches.
- Review competitor activity and technological or regulatory developments that may affect projects.
Portfolio Performance and Resource Planning
- Recommend resource allocation improvements informed by project intelligence.
- Identify opportunities to improve project management processes, tools and methodologies.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineering teams and finance functions to align analysis with business priorities.
- Establish knowledge-sharing arrangements to circulate intelligence findings and relevant practices across Group Companies.
- Support timely, cost-conscious delivery of project intelligence activities.
Leadership and Department Operations
- Plan, supervise and coordinate assigned personnel and work activities.
- Develop team capability through training, knowledge transfer and practical guidance.
- Manage the budget allocated to project intelligence activities and contribute to relevant departmental budgets.
- Monitor spending, investigate material variances and support cost control.
- Implement approved policies, systems, procedures and performance requirements.
- Introduce appropriate tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of analytical work.
- Contribute to management information systems and progress reports.
- Comply with applicable HSE policies, legislation, sustainability guidelines and ADNOC Codes of Practice.
Working Relationships
The role engages with senior vice presidents and vice presidents in Group Project Governance and Excellence, business line directorates, project leadership, other relevant ADNOC units and Group Companies. External coordination may involve shareholders, vendors, contractors and third-party service providers as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum 20 years of relevant experience in national oil companies, international oil companies or engineering, procurement and construction management companies.
- At least 2 years addressing technical discipline challenges in an Expert, Principal or Discipline Technical Authority capacity.
- Essential experience in major project management or engineering.
- Knowledge and experience of project management and engineering systems.
- Ability to apply project intelligence, data analysis, benchmarking and risk assessment to capital project decisions.
