Job summary

Tanqeeb is seeking an experienced Engineering Leader to guide multidisciplinary teams through FEED, detailed design, and proposal phases of EPC oil and gas projects.

You will drive planning, control resources, and ensure compliance with international codes while coordinating with clients and vendors; candidates should have 16+ years in EPC, with 5+ in senior roles, and a proven track record delivering onshore facilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 16 years of experience with 5 years in the position of Senior Project Engineer or EM in the EPC oil & gas industry.
• Demonstrated experience across FEED, Basic Design, Proposal, and Detail Engineering for EPC projects, on onshore facilities.
• Track record of successful delivery for major international operators, within time and budget.
• Proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams of 100 or more engineers.
• Excellent planning, scheduling, and resource-management skills, with the ability to manage competing project priorities.
• Strong client-facing and stakeholder-management skills, with proven cross-cultural work experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage multidisciplinary engineering teams through FEED, detailed engineering, and proposal phases of EPC projects for green-field and brown-field oil & gas.
• Plan, monitor, and control project engineering schedules, man-hour budgets, and resourcing to meet contractual milestones and client KPIs.
• Capture project objectives from contracts and client specifications, and establish procedures for controlling discipline-wise engineering activities.
• Take ownership of engineering support activities for assigned projects, escalating and resolving delays or deficiencies proactively.
• Monitor overall project progress against schedule and take corrective action where slippage or deficiencies are identified.
• Oversee piping and layout engineering deliverables — plot plans, equipment layouts, pipe rack layouts, 3D models, piping specifications, stress analysis, and general arrangement drawings — for compliance with international codes, project specifications, and local regulations.
• Drive interdisciplinary coordination and squad checks of drawings/documents, resolving 3D model clashes across process, piping, civil, mechanical, and instrumentation disciplines, and liaise with the stress engineering team on piping load data for civil/structural design.
• Review vendor documentation, technical bid evaluations, and valve GADs, special items, and safety-critical components against bid documentation, coordinating with procurement on technical compliance.

Engineering Leadership & Project Delivery

Technical & Design Oversight

• Strong exposure to both greenfield and brownfield refinery and upstream oil & gas facilities
• Hands-on experience in Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) and detailed engineering
• Oversee piping and layout engineering deliverables — plot plans, equipment layouts, pipe rack layouts, 3D models, piping specifications, stress analysis, and general arrangement drawings — for compliance with international codes, project specifications, and local regulations.
• Good understanding of project planning, engineering schedules, and resource management
• Ensure timely issuance of isometric drawings in line with project milestone plans, including commissioning isometrics to support smooth pre-commissioning and commissioning handover.
• Drive interdisciplinary coordination and squad checks of drawings/documents, resolving 3D model clashes across process, piping, civil, mechanical, and instrumentation disciplines, and liaise with the stress engineering team on piping load data for civil/structural design.
• Review vendor documentation, technical bid evaluations, and valve GADs, special items, and safety-critical components against bid documentation, coordinating with procurement on technical compliance.

Proposal, Tendering & Procurement Support

• Conduct technical analysis of Invitations to Bid (ITB), define scope of work and execution strategy, and lead man-hour estimation and resource allocation for proposals.
• Estimate and coordinate piping MTOs.
• Ensure compliance with client specifications, international codes, quality standards, and HSE requirements

Stakeholder, Client & Site Coordination

• Act as the primary technical point of contact with clients, Owner's Representatives, PMC representatives, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring smooth workflow between client and engineering disciplines.
• Follow up on client approvals of technical documentation and maintain transparent, timely communication on project status.
• Conduct and chair technical meetings with internal departments, clients, and vendors to resolve outstanding engineering issues.
