Job summary

Met T&S Ltd. is seeking a Pipeline Engineer responsible for site pipeline design activities in proposals and projects, supported by subcontractors and internal engineers within the Layout & Piping Department.

The role reports to the Project Engineering Manager and involves defining execution strategy and managing interfaces. Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and at least 10 years of EPC experience in oil, gas, and petrochemical projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate pipeline design activities through proposal and detailed engineering phases.
• Define execution strategy and project schedule with the team and head of department.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and internal engineers to ensure contractual, codes and group procedures compliance.
• Assist in estimating materials and construction costs related to pipelines.
• Provide feedback and improve procedures, work instructions, and standards.

Job description

ThePipeline Engineer is responsible of the site pipeline design activities inproposals and projects, generally supported by specialized EngineeringSubcontractors and/or by engineers/specialists inside or outside Layout &Piping Department.

Duties and responsibilities

As project team member :

• He/she reports operatively toProject Engineering Manager or Layout & Piping Project Leader as faras project/proposal activities are concerned, according to the executionstrategy and the pipelines relevant work magnitude:
• To prepare and discuss with theProject Team and the Head of Department the execution strategy of theproject (including the project schedule) and assure its applicationthroughout the entire project life.
• To lead and coordinate the executionof pipelines design activities during proposal phases,feasibility/conceptual study up to detail engineering phases, with thesupport of engineers/specialists inside or outside Layout & PipingDepartment and the involvement of specialized Engineering Subcontractors(for which he/she participates to the definition of the scope of workand manages the technical interface) in case of large scope of work,ensuring the compliance with the applicable contractual requirements,Codes, good engineering practice and Group document system (e.gstandards, procedures, work instructions), meeting the given constraintsof schedule and manhours budget.
• To participate in the estimation ofthe materials and construction costs associated with the pipeline’sactivities.
• To ensure the required assistance toall the Project Stakeholders, including Proposal and Project Managers,Project Control, Procurement, Subcontracting, Construction,Commissioning.
• To provide feedback to the concernedHead of Departments relevant to issues raised adopting procedures, WorkInstructions and standards, in order to improve their effectiveness.
• To participate in the preparationand update of the Group document system of competence and in thecollection of the Lessons Learnt for the capitalization of the knowledgederiving from project experience.
• To identify and contribute todevelop improvement in work methodologies and design tools.
• To contribute to the professionalgrowth in the area of pipeline design and construction, resources ofother Departments also through specific training courses in accordancewith his/her own Department demand.

Person Specification

Knowledge & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree inmechanical engineering or a related technical field.

Experience

At least 10 Years of relevant experience inEPC projects within the oil, gas & Petrochemical industry.

Skills and Abilities

Strong understanding of engineering principles, project managementmethodologies, and technical documentation.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in project management software and tools.

Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary teamenvironment.
