Qualifications

• 5–8 years of relevant experience in fit-out, interior construction or related projects.
• Experience with high-rise residential, hospitality, commercial, or large-scale fit-out projects.
• Ability to read and interpret construction, architectural, MEP, and shop drawings.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office; knowledge of Revit/BIM is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise day-to-day fit-out activities at project sites, ensuring works follow approved drawings and schedules.
• Coordinate with consultants, architects, interior designers, subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams for smooth execution.
• Review and resolve issues in architectural, interior, MEP, and structural drawings.
• Coordinate shop drawings, material submittals, samples, method statements and RFIs for approval.
• Monitor progress against schedules and report updates to the Project Manager.
• Ensure proper sequencing and coordination to avoid delays and conflicts with other trades.
• Supervise partitions, ceilings, flooring, wall finishes, painting, joinery, doors and decorative finishes.
• Coordinate with joinery/factory teams for bespoke furniture and cabinetry.

Job description

The Project Engineer – Fit-out will be responsible for managing and coordinating fit-out works from planning and execution through completion. The role requires strong technical knowledge of interior fit-out, site coordination, drawings, materials, subcontractors, and quality control to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with approved specifications and standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise day-to-day fit-out activities at project sites, ensuring works are executed according to approved drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
• Coordinate with consultants, architects, interior designers, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal project teams to ensure smooth project execution.
• Review architectural, interior design, MEP, structural, and shop drawings and identify technical issues or discrepancies.
• Coordinate the preparation, review, and approval of shop drawings, material submittals, samples, method statements, and RFIs.
• Monitor site progress against project schedules and provide regular updates to the Project Manager.
• Ensure proper sequencing and coordination of fit-out activities to avoid delays and conflicts with other trades.
• Supervise works including partitions, ceilings, flooring, wall finishes, painting, joinery, doors, ironmongery, decorative works, and other interior finishes.
• Coordinate closely with the joinery/factory team for bespoke furniture, cabinetry, doors, wall panels, and other manufactured fit-out elements.
• Inspect completed works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project requirements.
• Coordinate with QA/QC teams for inspections, snagging, testing, and rectification of defects.
• Monitor material requirements, deliveries, storage, and utilization to ensure materials are available as per project requirements.
• Identify technical problems, site constraints, and potential delays and recommend practical solutions.
• Assist in preparing project reports, progress updates, material status reports, and technical documentation.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely completion of assigned works.
• Ensure all works comply with project HSE requirements and applicable UAE regulations.
• Participate in site meetings, coordination meetings, inspections, and progress reviews.
• Support the preparation of as-built drawings, handover documentation, O&M requirements, and project close-out documents.
• Monitor variations and additional works and coordinate with the commercial/cost control team where required.
• Provide technical support and guidance to site engineers, supervisors, draftsmen, and subcontractors.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Interior Design, or a related engineering discipline.
• 5–8 years of relevant experience in fit-out, interior construction, or related projects.
• Strong experience in high-rise residential, hospitality, commercial, or large-scale fit-out projects.
• Good knowledge of interior fit-out works, including partitions, ceilings, flooring, wall finishes, painting, joinery, doors, and decorative finishes.
• Experience coordinating architectural, interior design, MEP, and structural works.
• Ability to read and interpret construction, architectural, MEP, and shop drawings.
• Experience with subcontractor management, site coordination, material approvals, inspections, and project documentation.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office; knowledge of Revit/BIM and project management software is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of QA/QC and HSE requirements.
• Good communication, coordination, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple activities within tight project deadlines.
