Job summary

Daikin Middle East & Africa (DAME) is seeking an Application Engineer to provide technical and commercial support for HVAC projects in the MEA region, evaluating customer requirements, selecting optimal equipment, and preparing proposals.

You will liaise with customers, sales, manufacturing, and internal teams to ensure compliant, competitive solutions, perform heat load analyses, size equipment, and develop technical and commercial quotations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree needed in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years in an Application Engineering role within HVAC.
• Experience in HVAC system design, equipment selection, and technical proposals.
• Experience supporting commercial, industrial, and specialized projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review project specifications, drawings, and requirements to determine suitable HVAC solutions.
• Size and select HVAC equipment (Chillers, AHUs, FCUs, VRV) and perform heat load analyses.
• Prepare technical and commercial submittals and quotations.
• Coordinate with factories and internal teams on non-standard requirements and oil & gas projects.
• Maintain project records and CRM updates; generate status reports.

About The Role

The Application Engineer is responsible for providing technical and commercial support for HVAC projects by evaluating customer requirements, selecting optimal equipment solutions, preparing technical and commercial proposals, and ensuring compliance with project specifications. The role serves as a key liaison between customers, sales teams, manufacturing facilities, and internal departments to deliver accurate, efficient, and competitive HVAC solutions.

How You Will Contribute

• Review project specifications, engineering drawings, and client requirements to determine the most suitable HVAC solutions.
• Perform optimized selection and sizing of HVAC equipment, including: Chillers, Air Handling Units (AHUs), Fan Coil Units (FCUs) and Variable Refrigerant Volume (VRV) Systems.
• Conduct heat load analysis and evaluate project-specific technical requirements.
• Develop technical compliance statements and submittals in accordance with project specifications.
• Coordinate with factories and technical teams on non-standard product requirements and specialized applications, including Oil & Gas projects.
• Prepare accurate costing, pricing, and commercial offers.
• Develop comprehensive technical and commercial quotations aligned with customer requirements and company guidelines.
• Ensure proposals are competitive, technically sound, and commercially viable.
• Respond to customer inquiries and clarify technical requirements throughout the sales cycle.
• Collaborate closely with internal teams to facilitate smooth project execution and order fulfilment.
• Coordinate with engineering, sales, operations, procurement, and other internal stakeholders to ensure project requirements accurately communicated and executed.
• Maintain accurate project records and updates within the CRM system.
• Generate and submit regular reports related to quotations, project status, and customer activities.

What You Need To Succeed

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in an Application Engineering role within the HVAC industry.
• Proven experience in HVAC system design, equipment selection, and technical proposal preparation.
• Experience supporting commercial, industrial, and specialized projects is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Valid UAE Driving License.
• Experience working with specialized HVAC applications, including Oil & Gas projects.
• Familiarity with regional HVAC standards and practices within the GCC market.
