Job summary

Daikin Middle East & Africa (DAME) is seeking an Application Engineer to provide technical and commercial support for HVAC projects. You will evaluate customer requirements, select optimal equipment solutions, and prepare detailed technical and commercial proposals.

The role acts as a liaison between customers, sales teams, manufacturing facilities, and internal departments to deliver compliant, efficient, and competitive HVAC solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in an Application Engineering role within the HVAC industry.
• Proven experience in HVAC system design, equipment selection, and technical proposal preparation.
• Experience supporting commercial, industrial, and specialized projects is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review project specifications, engineering drawings and client requirements to determine suitable HVAC solutions.
• Perform optimized selection and sizing of HVAC equipment including Chillers, AHUs, FCUs and VRV systems.
• Conduct heat load analysis and evaluate project-specific technical requirements.
• Develop technical compliance statements and submittals per project specifications.
• Coordinate with factories and technical teams on non-standard product requirements.
• Prepare accurate costing, pricing and commercial offers.
• Develop comprehensive quotations aligned with customer requirements and company guidelines.
• Ensure proposals are competitive, technically sound and commercially viable.
• Respond to customer inquiries and clarify technical requirements during the sales cycle.
• Collaborate with internal teams to facilitate project execution and order fulfilment.
• Maintain accurate project records and CRM updates; generate regular reports.

About the role

The Application Engineer is responsible for providing technical and commercial support for HVAC projects by evaluating customer requirements, selecting optimal equipment solutions, preparing technical and commercial proposals, and ensuring compliance with project specifications. The role serves as a key liaison between customers, sales teams, manufacturing facilities, and internal departments to deliver accurate, efficient, and competitive HVAC solutions.

How you will contribute

• Review project specifications, engineering drawings, and client requirements to determine the most suitable HVAC solutions.
• Perform optimized selection and sizing of HVAC equipment, including: Chillers, Air Handling Units (AHUs), Fan Coil Units (FCUs) and Variable Refrigerant Volume (VRV) Systems.
• Conduct heat load analysis and evaluate project-specific technical requirements.
• Develop technical compliance statements and submittals in accordance with project specifications.
• Coordinate with factories and technical teams on non-standard product requirements and specialized applications, including Oil & Gas projects.
• Prepare accurate costing, pricing, and commercial offers.
• Develop comprehensive technical and commercial quotations aligned with customer requirements and company guidelines.
• Ensure proposals are competitive, technically sound, and commercially viable.
• Respond to customer inquiries and clarify technical requirements throughout the sales cycle.
• Collaborate closely with internal teams to facilitate smooth project execution and order fulfilment.
• Coordinate with engineering, sales, operations, procurement, and other internal stakeholders to ensure project requirements are accurately communicated and executed.
• Maintain accurate project records and updates within the CRM system.
• Generate and submit regular reports related to quotations, project status, and customer activities.

What you need to succeed

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in an Application Engineering role within the HVAC industry.
• Proven experience in HVAC system design, equipment selection, and technical proposal preparation.
• Experience supporting commercial, industrial, and specialized projects is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Valid UAE Driving License.
• Experience working with specialized HVAC applications, including Oil & Gas projects.
• Familiarity with regional HVAC standards and practices within the GCC market.
