Job summary

Precision Group in Dubai seeks an experienced CNC Programmer for manufacturing tools with 5-axis CNC experience. You'll prepare programs for CNC machines, ensure precision and quality, and collaborate with design and production teams.

Diploma in Engineering or ITI/Machinist, with 3+ years of CNC programming and familiarity with UG/PRO-E, CAD/CAM software. Knowledge of G-codes and tool parameters is essential for quality output.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Engineering or ITI / Machinist background.
• CNC programming experience, preferably in Die/Mould making.
• CAD/CAM software: Auto CAD / Pro-E / Mastercam / Unigraphics (UG).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Design to create, post and transfer CNC programs per drawings/specs.
• Work with production to select and maintain tooling.
• Ensure efficient operation using tooling and consumables.
• Write instruction sheets and tool lists for machine operators.
• Observe trials or simulate to ensure programs and machinery meet specs and quality.
• Detect malfunctions and report to Supervisor.
• Coordinate with planning for max machine utilization.
• Provide technical support to CNC operators during operations.
• Contribute to root-cause analysis to improve tool qualification system.
• Document work properly and maintain accessibility.
• Undertake machining on CNC and conventional machines when required.
• Train operators per SOP when instructed.
• Liaise with suppliers on CNC/PLC developments.
• Maintain housekeeping and follow safety SOPs.
• Perform other tasks as needed by Production Supervisor.

Job Description

JOB CONTENT

To prepare programs for manufacturing tools as per the approved design with high precision, quality and finish with optimum utilization of the available resources.

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinate with Design department to create, post and transfer programs for CNC machining to carry out the job as per the given drawing / specifications.Work with production personnel to select and maintain production tooling.
  
• Ensure efficient and profitable operation of the defined work center by optimum usage of tools, consumables, etc.
  
• Write instruction sheets and tool lists for the machine's operator in order to guide setup and provide programs for machines.
  
• Observe machines on trial runs or conduct computer simulations to ensure that programs & machinery will function properly to produce items that meet specifications & achieve the quality requirements of the product.
  
• Detects equipment malfunctions or out of tolerance machining and adjusts machine, within capabilities, controls or control media as required to insure quality of productions. Reports all machine malfunctions to the Supervisor.
  
• To coordinate with planning department for maximum utilization of machine; identify the difficulties in manufacturing and update the supervisor accordingly.
  
• Provide technical support to CNC machine operators throughout the machine operations process.
  
• Contribute to a problem solving process interrogation and root cause analysis for improving and troubleshooting our current tool qualification system.
  
• To ensure proper documentation of work done and in a manner well accessible every time.
  
• To undertake machining work in CNC machines and conventional machines if required.
  
• Train and guide the machine operators in operating the machine as per SOP when instructed.
  
• Maintain contact with software and equipment suppliers regarding new developments relevant to CNC, PLC and numerical control fields.
  
• Strictly follow housekeeping procedures including machine and tool equipment cleaning and ensure the surrounding area is absolutely clean and in order.
  
• Follow company’s HSE guidelines in respect of all operations undertaken and follow safety precautions highlighted in the SOP & manuals. Communicate potential hazards immediately to supervisor.
  
• Perform any other job/task assigned by the Production Supervisor to accomplish department objectives.
  

Requirements

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, FUNCTIONAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Education/ Qualifications

• Diploma in Engineering / ITI / Machinist.
  
• CNC Programming preferably in Die / Mould making
  
• CAD/CAM software, Auto CAD / Pro-E / Master cam / Unigraphic (UG).
  

Experience

• Minimum 3 years of CNC Programming experience
  
• Experience in 5 Axis CNC machines. Preferably DMG machines.
  

Functional Skills & Specific Knowledge

• In depth understanding of G-codes
  
• Ability to read Engineering drawing, knowledge of various CNC controls and post processing.
  
• Experience in 3D modelling on UG / PRO-E, etc.
  
• Knowledge on Machinability of different metals
  
• Conversant with cutting tools & parameters like speed, feed, etc.
  
• Precision measuring instruments & gauges
  
• Knowledge of Quality systems and procedures
