Job summary

Precision Group in Dubai invites an experienced CNC Programmer to join our tooling division. You will design and post CNC programs for 3- and 5-axis machines, aiming for high precision in dies and mould tooling.

The role requires a diploma or equivalent in engineering, hands-on CNC programming experience (3+ years) and proficiency with CAD/CAM tools such as AutoCAD, Pro-E, Mastercam or Unigraphics. You will work closely with design and production teams to meet tight tolerances.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Engineering / ITI / Machinist
• CNC Programming experience, preferably in Die/Mould making
• CAD/CAM software: AutoCAD, Pro-E, Mastercam, Unigraphics
• Experience in 5 Axis CNC machines, preferably DMG
• In-depth understanding of G-codes

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Design department to create, post and transfer CNC programs.
• Ensure efficient operation of the defined work center by optimal tool usage.
• Write instruction sheets and tool lists for machine operators.
• Observe trials or simulations to ensure programs will meet specs.
• Detect malfunctions and report to Supervisor; coordinate with planning for utilization.
• Provide technical support to CNC operators throughout production.
• Contribute to root-cause analysis for tool qualification improvements.
• Maintain documentation of work and ensure accessibility.
• Train operators per SOP and adhere to safety and housekeeping rules.

Job Description

JOB CONTENT

To prepare programs formanufacturing tools as per the approved design with high precision, quality andfinish with optimum utilization of the available resources.

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinate with Design department to create, postand transfer programs for CNC machining to carry out the job as per the givendrawing / specifications.Work withproduction personnel to select and maintain production tooling.
  
• Ensure efficient and profitable operation of thedefined work center by optimum usage of tools, consumables, etc.
  
• Write instruction sheets and tool lists for themachine's operator in order to guide setup and provide programs for machines.
  
• Observe machines on trial runs or conduct computersimulations to ensure that programs & machinery will function properly toproduce items that meet specifications & achieve the quality requirementsof the product.
  
• Detects equipment malfunctions or out of tolerancemachining and adjusts machine, within capabilities, controls or control mediaas required to insure quality of productions. Reports all machine malfunctionsto the Supervisor.
  
• To coordinate with planning department for maximumutilization of machine; identify the difficulties in manufacturing and updatethe supervisor accordingly.
  
• Provide technical support to CNC machine operatorsthroughout the machine operations process.
  
• Contribute to a problem solving processinterrogation and root cause analysis for improving and troubleshooting ourcurrent tool qualification system.
  
• To ensure proper documentation of work done and ina manner well accessible every time.
  
• To undertake machining work in CNC machines andconventional machines if required.
  
• Train and guide the machine operators in operatingthe machine as per SOP when instructed.
  
• Maintain contact with software and equipmentsuppliers regarding new developments relevant to CNC, PLC and numerical controlfields.
  
• Strictly follow housekeeping procedures includingmachine and tool equipment cleaning and ensure the surrounding area isabsolutely clean and in order.
  
• Follow company’s HSE guidelines in respect of alloperations undertaken and follow safety precautions highlighted in the SOP& manuals. Communicate potential hazards immediately to supervisor.
  
• Perform any other job/task assigned by theProduction Supervisor to accomplish department objectives.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, FUNCTIONAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Education/ Qualifications

· Diploma in Engineering / ITI / Machinist.

· CNC Programming preferably in Die / Mould making

· CAD/CAM software, Auto CAD / Pro-E / Master cam /Unigraphic (UG).

Experience

· Minimum3 years of CNC Programming experience

· Experiencein 5 Axis CNC machines. Preferably DMG machines.

Functional Skills & Specific Knowledge

· In depth understanding of G-codes

· Ability to read Engineering drawing, knowledge ofvarious CNC controls and post processing.

· Experience in 3D modelling on UG / PRO-E, etc.

· Knowledge on Machinability of different metals

· Conversant with cutting tools & parameters likespeed, feed, etc.
