About the Role

The Principal Technician plays a pivotal leadership role within the Aviation & Aero Engine MRO division, specifically in the Engine Operations department at Gate 0&1. Acting as a trusted Approval Holder, this position is responsible for overseeing disassembly, assembly, and inspection activities while ensuring strict compliance with approved technical data and maintaining the highest Quality and Health, Safety, and Environment (HS&E) standards. This role is essential to aviation safety and involves managing the total engine management process, fostering an ethical and open team culture, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Your Responsibilities

• Lead the total engine management process, dedicating approximately 50% of your time to ensuring all tasks comply with aviation and HS&E regulations.
• Promote ethical leadership and a positive team culture by acting as a trusted Approval Holder who encourages transparency and addresses inappropriate behavior (25% of time).
• Support technician development and manage resources effectively, collaborating with supervision to maintain operational efficiency (15% of time).
• Provide customer support and drive improvement initiatives using LEAN methodologies to address variances from business plans (5% of time).
• Ensure quality assurance and compliance across all activities (5% of time).

Who we are looking for

We seek a candidate with 3 to 5 years of experience in the technical aviation or MRO industry, including at least one year in first-line management. The ideal candidate holds a high school diploma with vocational or technical training in aviation, aeronautical engineering, or a related field, along with D3 level authorization or equivalent certification. Key competencies include deep knowledge of Aero Engine MRO processes, strong IT skills, advocacy for quality and safety management, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, and proven leadership and team-building capabilities. The successful applicant will demonstrate strong problem-solving, decision-making, time management, adaptability, and meticulous attention to detail to uphold compliance and discipline within the Approval Holder accountability.
