Primary Maths Coordinator – British Curriculum

Primary Maths Coordinator – British Curriculum in Dubai, United Arab Emirates is a full-time education sector role for an experienced mathematics education professional who can support Primary Maths Teachers, improve subject standards, and strengthen curriculum delivery in line with British curriculum expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the HOD Maths in improving subject standards across the primary mathematics department.
• Provide guidance, coaching, and practical support to Primary Maths Teachers.
• Contribute to the development, implementation, review, and evaluation of the Primary Maths curriculum.
• Ensure mathematics teaching methods and learning activities align with British curriculum standards.
• Support teachers in preparing effective daily lesson plans, resources, assessments, and classroom activities.
• Conduct lesson observations and provide constructive feedback to improve teaching quality and student engagement.
• Lead or support Continuous Professional Development sessions for Primary Maths Teachers.
• Assist teachers in using appropriate strategies for differentiation, assessment, classroom delivery, and student support.
• Conduct team teaching where required to model effective mathematics instruction.
• Monitor curriculum coverage, teaching consistency, assessment practices, and student progress across primary classes.
• Support the use of data to identify learning gaps and improve mathematics attainment and progress.
• Collaborate with teachers to improve pedagogy, classroom practice, and student confidence in mathematics.
• Help maintain departmental records, curriculum documents, observation notes, assessment data, and progress tracking files.
• Contribute to departmental targets, school improvement plans, inspection readiness, and academic quality standards.
• Promote a positive, engaging, and inclusive approach to mathematics learning across the primary phase.
• Perform general teaching, coordination, and departmental duties assigned by the HOD Maths or school leadership.

Ideal Profile

• Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience in primary mathematics teaching, coordination, or subject leadership.
• Strong knowledge of the British curriculum and primary mathematics standards.
• Experience supporting teachers through lesson observations, coaching, mentoring, and CPD delivery.
• Knowledge and exposure to DSIB Inspection Frameworks is required.
• Strong understanding of curriculum development, assessment methods, lesson planning, and student progress tracking.
• Ability to guide Primary Maths Teachers in improving classroom strategies and daily lesson delivery.
• Experience with team teaching, teacher support, and department-level academic improvement is an advantage.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Strong classroom practice with the ability to model effective teaching methods.
• Ability to analyze student performance data and support targeted improvement strategies.
• Professional, collaborative, and committed to improving mathematics outcomes across the primary phase.
• Candidates with relevant UAE school experience will be preferred.
