Role Context

The Primary Inclusion Teacher will work at the intersection of classroom teaching, targeted learning support, and individual student development. Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist teaching and learning support for primary students with SEND and additional educational needs.
  • Plan targeted interventions that address identified barriers while supporting access to the National Curriculum for England.
  • Adapt teaching content, classroom activities, resources, and assessment approaches according to individual learning requirements.
  • Apply differentiation, scaffolding, and personalised learning strategies to enable meaningful curriculum participation.
  • Work closely with class teachers to embed inclusive practice within everyday classroom teaching.
  • Monitor student attainment and use assessment evidence to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and support plans.
  • Establish realistic learning goals and help students develop greater confidence, independence, and engagement.
  • Identify patterns in student progress and recommend adjustments where existing support strategies require refinement.
  • Maintain accurate records covering interventions, achievement, learning needs, and relevant student development.
  • Build productive relationships with families and communicate appropriately about progress, priorities, and educational support.
  • Collaborate with members of the inclusion team to coordinate consistent provision across the primary phase.
  • Promote a learning environment in which students of different abilities feel respected, supported, and able to participate.
  • Contribute to enrichment activities, school events, and community initiatives beyond scheduled classroom responsibilities.
  • Follow safeguarding requirements and school procedures while maintaining appropriate confidentiality around individual student needs.
Ideal Profile

The successful candidate should hold a Bachelor 's degree in Education or a relevant subject together with a recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, B.Ed., or an equivalent credential. Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum for England and effective primary classroom practice is essential. Candidates should bring practical experience supporting children with SEND, additional learning needs, or inclusion requirements within a primary school environment. A sound understanding of differentiation, personalised learning, intervention strategies, and inclusive teaching practice is required.
