Job summary

Vertiv Co is seeking an Electrical Engineer – Design & Application (Medium Voltage Switchgear) in Abu Dhabi. You will execute detailed MV switchgear design, protection relay engineering and application work to ensure IEC standards compliance, accurate relay settings and timely project delivery.

You will prepare and review electrical drawings, perform coordination studies, and support testing, FAT and on-site queries while collaborating with sales and project teams for technical clarifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 5–10 years of MV switchgear design and protection engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of IEC 62271 and protection standards (IEC 60255).
• Hands-on experience in numerical relay programming (ABB/Siemens/Schneider).

Responsibilities

• Design and engineering of MV switchgear including SLDs, GA drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams and interlocking logic up to 36kV.
• Perform busbar sizing, short-circuit withstand calculations, and thermal considerations.
• Ensure IEC 62271 compliance and support standardization with approved templates.
• Configure and program protection relays and develop trip matrices and interlocking logic.
• Assist FAT and commissioning for relay validation and troubleshooting.
• Review customer specifications and prepare compliance statements.
