Job summary

Vertiv in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Design Engineer to support the design and development of customized switchgear and fabricated products. You will prepare manufacturing drawings, conduct design reviews, coordinate with project teams, and ensure timely delivery of accurate engineering documentation in a fast-paced ETO/MTO environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in a Design Engineering role, preferably in switchgear, ETO, MTO, or custom fabrication environments.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks PDM.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed manufacturing drawings and engineering documentation based on project specs and delivery schedules.
• Develop 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Conduct design reviews per Design Control Plans to ensure quality and compliance.
• Coordinate with Design Managers and Project Managers to resolve technical discrepancies and ensure drawing accuracy.
• Track and communicate BOM changes to stakeholders and maintain design integrity.
• Ensure all project deliverables are completed within timelines and standards.
• Follow up on pending technical inputs and maintain design accuracy without assumptions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project execution.
• Maintain compliance with HSE policies and quality standards.
