Job summary

Vertiv in the United Arab Emirates is seeking an Electrical Engineer – Design & Application for MV switchgear to deliver detailed design, protection relay engineering, and IEC-compliant solutions for critical power projects. You will work on AIS/GIS up to 36kV and support FAT and commissioning.

Candidate should have 5–10 years MV switchgear experience, strong AutoCAD/EPLAN skills, and familiarity with protection coordination studies.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
5-10 years MV switchgear design and protection engineering experience.
Strong knowledge of IEC 62271 series and protection standards.

Responsibilities

Prepare and review SLDs, GA drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and interlocking logic for MV switchgear (AIS/GIS up to 36kV).
Perform busbar sizing, short-circuit calculations, and thermal considerations.
Ensure IEC 62271 compliance and use approved templates and libraries.
Protection & Relay Engineering: select and apply numerical protection relays.
Configure and program protection relays per project philosophy.
Develop trip matrix and interlocking logic; support protection coordination studies.
Assist FAT and commissioning for relay validation and troubleshooting.
Review customer technical specs and prepare compliance statements.
Identify technical deviations and propose optimized solutions.
Support sales and project teams with technical clarifications.
Test procedures and FAT preparation; provide manufacturing/site support.
