Job summary

Vertiv in the United Arab Emirates seeks a Senior Electrical Design Engineer – LV Switchgear to own the complete design lifecycle from concept to release, while mentoring junior engineers and serving as the technical backbone for customers and project teams.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 15–20 years hands-on LV switchgear design experience.
• Proficiency with PCC, MCC, APFC and distribution boards.
• Experience with APFC panel design and harmonic mitigation is preferred.
• Strong communication and ability to mentor engineers.

Responsibilities

• Own and lead the complete LV switchgear design lifecycle.
• Prepare and release SLDs, control schematics, GA drawings, wiring diagrams.
• Develop BOMs with cost awareness and manufacturability.
• Ensure IEC 61439 compliance and project specifications.
• Define protection schemes and interlocking logic.
• Perform load calculations, short-circuit studies, and thermal evaluations.
• Interface with customers, consultants, and project teams.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, QA/QC, and Project teams.
• Support FATs, design reviews, and customer inspections.
• Drive standardization and continuous improvement.
• Mentor junior engineers through design reviews.
