Job summary

Vertiv seeks an Electrical Engineer – Design & Application for MV switchgear (up to 36kV) to execute detailed design, protection engineering, and application tasks. You will review schematics, perform protective relay calculations, and support FAT/commissioning.

The role requires 5–10 years of MV switchgear experience, strong IEC knowledge, and proficiency with AutoCAD/EPLAN. On-site UAE delivery will involve cross-functional collaboration and project support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 5–10 years of experience in MV switchgear design and protection engineering.
• Strong knowledge of IEC 62271 series and protection standards (IEC 60255).
• Hands-on experience with numerical relay programming (ABB / Siemens / Schneider).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review SLDs, GA drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and interlocking logic for MV switchgear (AIS/GIS up to 36kV or company scope).
• Perform busbar sizing, short-circuit calculations, and thermal considerations.
• Configure and program protection relays per project philosophy and develop trip matrix.
• Support FAT, commissioning, and site queries with technical clarification to customers and project teams.
• Review customer specifications and propose optimized, compliant solutions.
