Job summary

GEMS Education in the United Arab Emirates is seeking a passionate Middle School Special Educator to join our Inclusion team. This role focuses on supporting students with additional learning needs through targeted interventions and promoting classroom inclusion.

Qualifications

Experience in special education and inclusive teaching practices.
Ability to develop and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs) with identified targets.
Strong collaboration with teachers, parents and specialists to support learning.

Responsibilities

Provide individualized and small-group interventions to support academic, social and emotional development.
Develop, implement and review IEPs and monitor student progress against targets.
Collaborate with subject teachers to apply differentiation and inclusive strategies.
Use assessments and observations to identify learning needs and tailor interventions.
Work with parents, teachers, counsellors and the Inclusion team for coordinated support.
Promote student wellbeing, confidence, and active participation in school life.
Maintain accurate student records and contribute to reviews and initiatives.
Support the development of inclusive practices and staff professional learning.
