Job summary

MTEC Electromechanical Works LLC in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Senior Project Manager for end-to-end MEP project leadership from mobilization through handover. You will drive engineering, procurement, construction, testing and commissioning, ensuring delivery within contract, programme, cost, quality and HSE objectives.

The role requires 15+ years of direct MEP construction experience, strong commercial acumen, and proficiency with Primavera P6/MS Project, ERP systems and document management

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 15+ years of MEP construction experience with PM responsibility on substantial buildings.
• Strong knowledge of MEP project lifecycle, planning, procurement, construction and commissioning.
• Commercial awareness: cost control, payment applications, variations and claims.
• Experience with UAE/GCC authority approvals and main-contractor workflows preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establish project execution plan and MEP programme aligned with main project programme.
• Review contracts, BOQs, specs and change-control mechanisms to define deliverables and risks.
• Lead engineering, construction, QA/QC, planning, procurement, BIM and document-control teams.
• Monitor progress, manpower, materials, subcontractor performance; implement recovery plans for delays.
• Own project financials: budget control, cash-flow, variations and payments.
• Manage client, consultant, main-contractor and authority interfaces; run progress and commercial meetings.
• Ensure approvals and long-lead procurement are secured ahead of construction needs.
• Oversee testing and commissioning, training, O&M manuals and handover.
• Provide accurate weekly/monthly progress, risks, cost, and decisions.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Take end-to-end ownership of assigned MEP projects from mobilization through engineering, procurement, construction, testing/commissioning, handover and commercial close-out, ensuring delivery against contract, programme, cost, quality and HSE objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Establish the project execution plan, MEP programme, engineering/submittal schedule, procurement plan, manpower histogram, cash-flow priorities and project controls in alignment with the main project programme.
• Review contract documents, BOQs, specifications, tender assumptions and scope interfaces and establish clear deliverables, exclusions, risks and change-control mechanisms.
• Lead engineering, construction, QA/QC, HSE, planning, commercial, procurement, BIM and document-control teams and maintain clear responsibility matrices and reporting rhythms.
• Monitor progress, productivity, manpower, material availability and subcontractor performance; implement recovery plans for critical-path delays and underperformance.
• Own project financial performance including budget control, cost-to-complete, procurement commitments, monthly billing, variations/claims, subcontractor payments and cash-flow support.
• Manage client, consultant, main-contractor and authority interfaces and lead progress, technical and commercial meetings; ensure actions and approvals are closed on time.
• Ensure engineering approvals, authority approvals, long-lead procurement and logistics are obtained ahead of construction need dates.
• Enforce project HSE, QA/QC, method statement, inspection and testing requirements and ensure timely closure of NCRs, snags and audit findings.
• Manage change, risk, contractual notices, delay records and technical/commercial substantiation in coordination with Contracts/QS teams.
• Oversee system completion, testing, commissioning, integrated testing, training, O&M manuals, as-built drawings, authority completion certificates and final handover.
• Manage defect-liability obligations and support final account, retention and outstanding payment recovery.
• Provide accurate weekly/monthly reports covering progress, risks, cost, billing, procurement, manpower, quality, safety and decisions required.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 15 years of MEP construction experience, including proven Project Manager responsibility for substantial building projects.
• Strong knowledge of complete MEP project lifecycle, planning, technical coordination, procurement, construction and commissioning.
• Demonstrated commercial awareness including cost control, payment applications, variations, claims and subcontract management.
• UAE/GCC experience and familiarity with authority approvals and consultant/main-contractor workflows are strongly preferred.
• Experience delivering major residential, high-rise, hospitality, commercial or mixed-use developments is preferred.
• Proficiency with project reporting and working knowledge of Primavera P6/MS Project, ERP/commercial systems and document-management platforms.
• PMP or equivalent project-management certification is an advantage.
