Job summary

Qualifications

• BOQ preparation for MEP projects and accurate quantity take-offs.
• Strong knowledge of civil and MEP engineering relevant to construction projects.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to study drawings, specifications, market rates, and technical data.
• Experience in UAE or GCC MEP estimation in contracting or consultancy preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for MEP works from drawings, specs and tender docs.

Role Description

The MEP Estimation Engineer is a full-time, on-site position based in Dubai. The role involves preparing detailed cost estimates for MEP works, including quantities take-off, BOQ preparation, and cost analysis from drawings, specifications, and tender documents. The engineer will review project scope, assess technical requirements, and coordinate with design and project teams to clarify ambiguities and gather missing information. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing supplier and subcontractor quotations, preparing technical and commercial proposals, updating estimation databases, and supporting negotiation efforts with procurement and management. The role also includes participating in value engineering, ensuring compliance with local regulations and standards, and providing estimation support during pre- and post-tender stages.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills in BOQ preparation and project estimation for MEP works.
• Candidates should possess solid civil engineering and MEP engineering knowledge relevant to construction projects.
• Candidates should possess effective negotiation and communication skills for dealing with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
• Candidates should possess research and analytical skills to study drawings, specifications, market rates, and technical data.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Previous experience in MEP estimation within contracting or consultancy environments in the UAE or GCC is preferred.
• Proficiency in estimation and quantity take-off software, MS Office (especially Excel), and familiarity with industry standards and codes.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to work under deadlines, and a collaborative approach in multidisciplinary project teams.
