Job summary

Via Medica International Healthcare in Abu Dhabi seeks a Medical Coder cum Insurance Coordinator to handle accurate coding (ICD-10-CM, CPT), claims submission, and billing coordination in line with UAE regulations.

You will collaborate with clinicians and finance teams, ensure documentation quality in EHR, monitor claim status with Daman and Thiqa, and generate regular reports for senior management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/Diploma in health field relevant to healthcare coding.
• 2–3 years of Medical Coder experience in hospital or clinic settings.
• AAPC CPC certification mandatory.
• ICD-10-CM coding proficiency.
• Knowledge of UAE health insurance regulations and Abu Dhabi processes.
• Experience with Daman and Thiqa insurance platforms.
• Experience with EHR/EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Assign medical codes using ICD-10-CM and CPT.
• Prepare, submit, monitor, and follow up on insurance claims with Abu Dhabi providers.
• Coordinate with insurers regarding approvals, rejections, and reimbursements.
• Maintain confidential billing records and EHR data.
• Collaborate with physicians and staff to ensure accurate documentation.
• Review documentation for coding accuracy and compliance.
• Assist in insurance network participation when needed.
• Generate periodic reports for leadership and departments.
• Ensure DOH Abu Dhabi compliance where applicable.
• Support quality audits and regulatory inspections.
• Identify and address coding/billing discrepancies.
