Job summary

Via Medica International Healthcare in Abu Dhabi seeks a Medical Coder cum Insurance Coordinator to ensure accurate ICD-10-CM and CPT coding, and to manage insurance claims with Daman, Thiqa, and Abu Dhabi insurers. You will maintain EHR records, support audits, and help maintain regulatory compliance with UAE healthcare standards.

The role reports to the site and requires collaboration with physicians, nurses, and reception staff to ensure complete clinical documentation and timely

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in health information management or related field.
• 2–3 years of medical coder experience in hospital or clinic setting.
• Valid AAPC CPC or AHIMA CCS certification.
• Proficient in ICD-10-CM and CPT coding.
• Knowledge of UAE health insurance regulations and Abu Dhabi processes.
• Experience with Daman, Thiqa, and Abu Dhabi insurers.
• Experience with EHR/EMR systems.
• Strong Excel and Outlook skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Assign accurate medical codes using ICD-10-CM, CPT, and other standards.
• Prepare and process insurance claims with Daman, Thiqa, and insurers.
• Coordinate with insurers on approvals, rejections, and resubmissions.
• Maintain confidential billing records and EHR data.
• Liaise with physicians and staff to ensure complete documentation.
• Review documentation for coding accuracy and compliance.
• Assist with insurance network participation applications.
• Generate reports for clinic leadership and departments.
• Support audits and regulatory inspections with proper records.
• Identify coding/billing discrepancies and propose corrective actions.
