The Materials Inspector provides independent verification that construction materials and completed works meet the technical and quality requirements established for major roads and bridge projects. The position combines site inspection with laboratory testing knowledge, requiring close attention to material properties, workmanship, testing procedures, structural interfaces, and project documentation. The inspector works closely with the Resident Engineer, Assistant Resident Engineer, contractors, laboratories, and client representatives. Effective inspection and accurate testing records help prevent defective materials from being incorporated into permanent works, reduce rework, and support reliable project completion, commissioning, and handover.
Candidates should hold a Bachelor 's Degree or Diploma in a relevant technical field. Applicants should have more than 5 years of relevant experience in laboratory materials testing combined with field inspection of construction materials and samples. Previous experience on comparable roads, bridges, and infrastructure projects is important. Middle East project experience is preferred, particularly where candidates have worked within consultant-led construction supervision environments. The successful candidate should understand construction materials, testing procedures, inspection requirements, quality records, specifications, and contractor QA/QC systems. Experience inspecting waterproofing, structural coatings, expansion joints, concrete finishing, repair works, precast elements, and cast-in-situ components will be valuable. Strong attention to detail is essential because the role requires the inspector to identify defects, record test results accurately, and verify that materials and workmanship satisfy contractual requirements before works progress. Candidates should also be comfortable coordinating with contractors, engineers, laboratories, client representatives, and multidisciplinary construction teams.
Dubai 's continued investment in roads, bridges, transportation systems, and supporting infrastructure creates strong demand for materials professionals who can safeguard quality at every stage of construction. This position provides direct involvement in material testing, structural inspection, contractor QA/QC, and construction supervision across complex infrastructure works. The role also offers a strong development pathway for inspectors seeking deeper expertise in transportation infrastructure, bridge materials, quality assurance, construction supervision, and senior inspection responsibilities within large multidisciplinary projects.
